NW FL SPEEDWAY SIGNS WITH NeSMITH RACING FOR LATE MODELS AND STREET STOCKS

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL has signed on with NeSmith Racing to sanction the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models on a limited basis, and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies on a weekly basis for the 2014 season.

                By signing up for weekly Friday night competition with the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies, Northwest Florida Speedway joins three Saturday night tracks in the area to give drivers a better chance to earn National points.  NeSmith AR Bodies Street Stock drivers earn both National points and weekly points at each track.

Saturday night NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies tracks in the area are Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL and Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL.

"We are excited about being sanctioned with the NeSmith Street Stock Series, and I think with us racing on Friday night, it will give the racers a great opportunity to boost their weekly points,” Northwest Florida Speedway Promoter Scott Sessions said.  “We worked really hard to get with our other area tracks to get on the same page with rules and divisions that we race.  After talking with Buddy Miller at Southern Raceway about the NeSmith Street Stock Division, we felt like it was the best and right thing for us to do."

Sessions said Northwest Florida Speedway will also run a limited schedule during the 2014 season with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models with a goal of having that division as a weekly class in 2015.

“We will also be sanctioning the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models on a few selected dates this season as a bit of a pilot program,” Sessions said.  “We want to see how things go and maybe add Late Models to our schedule full time in 2015.”

Northwest Florida Speedway drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for Late Models and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies compete in each Division during a 27-week season that begins on March 24 and runs through September 28.  A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count toward their season totals for National points against drivers at other sanctioned tracks throughout the country.

According to the Northwest Florida Speedway web site, there will be two pre-season opportunities to tune up at the ¼-mile clay oval before the NeSmith Racing Weekly National points begin on March 24.  Northwest Florida Speedway will host an open practice session this Friday night, and then hold a pre-season racing event on March 21.

Drivers in both Divisions can compete with economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines.  The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models compete with the Chevrolet Performance 604 Engine and the Chevrolet 602 Engine.  Drivers in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies have the option to compete with the 602 Engine.

The Chevrolet Performance 604 Circle Track Engine is an aluminum-head 400 horsepower engine and the Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine is an all-steel 350 horsepower engine.  Both engines are in stock at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast.
