NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES GETTING SET FOR 9TH SEASON

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models are getting set to begin their ninth season at 20 tracks in eight states.  The points season for the $10,000 National Championship begins on March 24, but most tracks will be hosting either/or Practice sessions and Pre-Season races between now and then.

                Drivers will have the opportunity to earn points over a 27-week season that runs through September 28.  Their point totals will be based on their best 14 weekly point totals.  The $20,000 point fund will pay back through the Top 10 positions at the end of the season.  Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion.

                Pre-Season action is already underway and is listed below along with the dates of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season openers at each sanctioned track, according to their respective web sites.

                Beginning this Saturday night, 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, and Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL will have open practice sessions for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models. 

Pre-Season racing action for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models will take place this Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will host NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series action with the $2,000-to-win Battle of the States Race on March 14-15.  On March 15, Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, and Smokey Harris Speedway will host Open Practice sessions.  Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, St. Tammany Raceway and Talladega Short Track will have Pre-Season races.

March 21 will see Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS having an open practice session, and Poplar Bluff Speedway will host Pre-Season racing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models. 

March 22 will be a busy night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models with Pre-Season racing action at Battleground Speedway, Magnolia Motor Speedway, St. Tammany Raceway, Southern Raceway, and Talladega Short Track.  Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, and Camden Speedway will host open practice sessions on March 22.

The first 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model points race will be on March 28 at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.  Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will host an open practice session on March 28. 

Season opening 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model point races on March 29 will happen at Battleground Speedway, East Alabama Motor Speedway, St. Tammany Raceway, Southern Raceway, Talladega Short Track and Whynot Motorsports Park.  Open practice sessions will be at Arkadelphia Speedway, and Clayhill Motorsports.

Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR and Jackson Motor Speedway will present their first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series points races on April 4.  On April 5, NeSmith Chevrolet WRS point races will be held at 411 Motor Speedway, Arkadelphia Speedway, Camden Speedway, Magnolia Motor Speedway, Poplar Bluff Speedway, and Smokey Harris Speedway.

Clayhill Motorsports will present their NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series first points race of the 2014 season on April 12.  Salina Speedway in Salina, KS will host an open practice session for the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Late Models on April 19.  Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, TN will present an open practice session on April 20.

Salina Speedway will host its first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model points race of the 2014 season on April 25.  Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will have an open practice session on April 26, and then host their first points race of the 2014 season on May 3.  Lexington 104 Speedway will have its first points race of the season on May 9.

Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL and Penton Raceway in Penton, AL have not yet announced their 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model schedules.  For more information and complete schedules on each NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series tracks, visit the series’ web site at www.nesmithracing.com and click the Tracks button.

A reminder that all Late Model drivers competing at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks must be Members by March 28 in order to compete.  Drivers are encouraged to fill out their Membership Forms and pay their $100 Annual Membership Fee before the points season begins on March 28.

There are two convenience ways for NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model drivers to complete their Membership Forms and pay their Annual Membership Fees:  The Membership Forms are available to be printed out online at www.nesmithracing.com.  They can be filed out and sent to the series’ office along with a check or money order, or the Membership Forms will be available and Membership Fees can be paid at the sanctioned tracks during Pre-Season events.
