MIDDLE TENNESSEE GOES NeSMITH STREET STOCK RACING AT THUNDERHILL RACEWAY PARK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN will give the growing number of Middle Tennessee NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division drivers a place to race on Saturday nights, as they have signed on with the Division for the 2016 season. Thunderhill Raceway Park Street Stock drivers will now be eligible for both a track point fund and a National point fund.

In competing for the National point fund in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division, Thunderhill Raceway Park drivers will compete against drivers at other NeSmith Street Stock tracks throughout the country using a point system.

The 2016 NeSmith Street Stock Weekly Racing Series season for National points will be for 27 weeks from March 21, 2016 through September 25, 2016. During the 27-week season, a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals will count towards their National total. The $5,000 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back ten spots in the final point standings.

“The old Modified Street class is fading out and the NeSmith Street Stocks are the future because everyone is going to it,” Thunderhill Raceway Park Promoter Ricky Spurgeon said. “The NeSmith Street Stocks are the way to go and a lot of the drivers said they wouldn’t race here unless we had them sanctioned here.”

The addition of Thunderhill Raceway Park brings the 2016 number of tracks for the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division up to 20 in eight different states, with 11 of those tracks new for this season. Track promoters are also finding that not only do the competitors like the NeSmith Street Stocks, but the fans also have come to enjoy the two and three-wide racing the Division provides.
