CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN and the Top 10 drivers in the point standings will be honored Saturday night during the NeSmith Racing Annual Awards Banquet at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and Thunder Road Museum in Dawsonville, GA.

Johnson will receive the NeSmith Cup and a Champions check for $20,000 out of the $50,000 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point fund. During the 2013 season, the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee had three wins, 15 top five finishes, 20 top ten finishes in 21 races, and led 66 laps of competition driving the NeSmith Chevrolet Special.

The three 2013 wins, two at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN and one at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL, brings Johnson’s series-leading All-Time Career Win total to 17 victories. “The Chattanooga Flash” earned $43,110 during the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series season and brings his career earnings with the series to $94,845, third on the All-Time Career Earnings list.

Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Championship Runner-Up and Rookie of the Year. Bronson will pick up a check for $12,000 to bring his rookie season earnings to $27,895.

Bronson will also receive a new Warrior Chassis from Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN. During the 2013 season, Bronson drove the Brandon Ford Warrior to one win at Bubba Raceway Park, nine top five finishes, 14 top ten finishes and two Fast Time Awards in 21 races. Bronson also led 35 laps of 2013 competition.

Tait Davenport of Benton, KY finished third in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings driving the Murtco, Inc. Special. Davenport had one win at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, seven top five finishes, 13 top ten finishes, and 1 Fast Time Award in 21 races. Davenport led the field this season for 82 laps.

Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS took the fourth spot in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings. In 21 races, “Dr. Dirt” turned in four top five finishes, ten top ten finishes and two fast time awards driving the Bassett Hound Motorsports GRT. Stokes will also receive a new GRT Chassis from GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR. Stokes also led 35 laps this season.

Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL was fifth in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings. Driving the High Roller Race Cars Special of his own make, “J-Mac” had one win at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, eight top five finishes, ten top ten finishes and one Fast Time Award in 20 races. McRee led 147 laps this season.

Ronny Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, AL drove the Sparks Motorsports Special to the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series points chase. Hollingsworth had five wins, with three at Bubba Raceway Park, one at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and one at Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN.

“Right Foot Ronny” also had seven top five finishes, 13 top ten finishes and three Fast Time Awards in 17 races. Hollingsworth led the most laps of NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series competition during the 2013 season, pacing the field for 188 laps.

Brent Barrett of Cleveland, TN finished seventh in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings and was the Rookie of the Year Runner-Up. Barrett had two top five finishes, six top ten finishes and one Fast Time Award in 21 races driving the Custom Spraying, Inc. GRT.

Josh Adkins of Talladega, AL drove the Yellow Hammer Construction Special to the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings, and finished third in the Rookie of the Year point standings. Adkins had three top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in 21 races.

Michael Blount of Sumrall, MS claimed the ninth spot in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division point standings. In 19 races, Blount had one top ten finish driving the Lamar Auto Salvage GRT.

Two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN rounded out the Top 10 in the 2013 point standings. Gentry had one top five finish and three top ten finishes in 14 races driving the Eads Farms/Hardy & Associates Warrior.

Warrior Race Cars will pick up their third NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Chassis Manufactures Championship at the Awards Banquet. Warrior and GRT Race Cars ended up in a tie at the top of the points list, and each make had one win on the tour this season. Warrior won the tie-breaker by virtue of more second-place finishes.

After wrapping up the 2013 season at the Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday night, the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will go right into the 2014 season 10 days later with the season opener at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL. The Bubba’s Army Winternationals will have the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS in action for five straight nights from January 28 through February 1.
