TOP TEN NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DRIVERS TO BE HONORED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Top 10 drivers in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division National point standings will be honored Saturday night at the NeSmith Racing Annual Awards Banquet at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and Thunder Road Museum in Dawsonville, GA.

Trey Bright of Coker, AL will be honored as the 2013 and first NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Champion, and will receive a $2,000 check out of the $5,000 point fund. Bright drove the AKA Cores Chevrolet in 29 events and accumulated 693 out of a possible 700 points.

Bright turned in nine victories with three wins at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, 3 wins at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and one win each at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL. Bright also had 18 top five finishes and 22 top ten finishes.

Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL battled with Bright during the entire 27-week season for the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Championship, but had to settle for second with 690 points in the Ross Designz.com Chevrolet powered by the $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

In 24 races, Spears had seven wins with five victories at Moulton Speedway and two wins at Whynot Motorsports Park. Spears also had 18 top five finishes and a series-leading 23 top ten finishes.

Calvin Cook of Pace, FL finished third in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 672 points. Cook competed in 21 races with two wins coming at Moulton Speedway and Magnolia Motor Speedway. Cook also had 17 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes driving the Foam Seal Insulation Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA drove the Flynn Racing Chevrolet to the fourth spot in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 668 points. Flynn had nine wins with five victories at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, two wins at Whynot Motorsports Park and one win each at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS and Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.

Adam Cheeks of Guntown, MS takes the fifth spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 659 points. Cheeks drove the Flurry Motorsports Chevrolet in 16 races with three wins at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Cheeks also turned in 11 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes.

Dave Nations of Raymond, MS drove the Street Stock Set-Up Specialists Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine to the sixth spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 650 points. Nations competed in 15 races with one win at Whynot Motorsports Park, and had nine top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes.

Mark Barnett of Aberdeen, MS finished seventh in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 647 points in 15 races. Barnett drove the MC Construction Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine to four victories with three wins at Magnolia Motor Speedway and one win at Moulton Speedway. Barnett also had nine top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes.

Jeremy Flurry of Smithville, MS drove the Flurry Motorsports Chevrolet to the eighth spot in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 647 points. In 15 races, Flurry had one win at Magnolia Motor Speedway along with ten top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes.

Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS will finish ninth in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 637 points. Driving the American Portable Buildings Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine, Leftwich had eight top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes.

Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS picked up the tenth and final points fund-paying spot in the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 634 points. Willis competed in 27 races with two wins coming at St. Tammany Raceway and Hattiesburg Motorsports Park. Willis also had 14 top five finishes and 21 top ten finishes.

The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division is gearing up for the 2014 season with a new Presenting Sponsorship from AR Bodies. The 27-week NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies will begin on March 24 and run through September 28. Drivers will be racing for both a track point fund and a National point fund.

NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies drivers will accumulate National points using their 14 best weekly point totals. The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies will once again co-sanction events with the Mississippi Street Stock Series.

To date, the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies has ten tracks signed up for the 2014 season, with more tracks expected to sign up in the coming weeks.
