Vicksburg, MS (3/25/08) – Bub McCool competed in a pair of MSCCS/AMP Late Model Series Challenge events over the weekend, and along the way he picked up his second feature win of the season behind the wheel of his #57j Trak-Star/Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The weekend got underway at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Friday night.  In time trials Bub set quick time in his group and third fast time overall, which earned him a third starting position for the forty lap feature.  McCool battled in the top five throughout the race’s early stages before using the high groove near the race’s midstage to take over the top spot.  Bub fought off late race charges from Chris Wall and Ray Moore to pick up the $2,000 payday.

On Saturday night, the action shifted to North Mississippi Speedway in Corinth, Mississippi for night #2 of the MSCCS/AMP Challenge.  Bub once again set quick time in his group and third quick overall.  He started 3rd in the pole-sitters dash and finished 4th which earned him a 4th starting spot for the feature.  From the drop of the green in the feature, Bub began battling an ill-handling car and was battling in the top five around lap 20, when he got a flat tire, and had to head pitside for fresh rubber.  He rejoined the rear of the field and charged to an 8th place finish by the time that the checkered flag fell.

This weekend Bub and McCool Motorsports will head south to Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi for a $20,000 to win event that is being sanctioned by the World of Outlaw Super Late Models.  Action gets underway on Friday night with time trials and heat race action.  B-mains and the feature event will be held on Saturday night.  For more information, please visit www.PikeCountySpeedway.com .

Billy traveled to Alabama and Mississippi last weekend to compete in a pair of challenge events between the MSCCS & AMP Super Late Model Series.  His weekend got underway on Friday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama, where he set quick time in his group and second quick time overall.  He finished 6th in the pole sitters dash, which earned him a 6th starting position in the feature. Billy battled throughout the top ten for much of the 40 lap feature before registering an 11th place finish against a solid field of competitors.

On Saturday night, the team headed to North Mississippi Speedway in Corinth, Mississippi for round #2 of the MSCCS & AMP Challenge event, which paid $2,500 to win.  After finishing 3rd in his qualifier, Billy qualified for the feature event, but luck would not be on his side as he was caught up in an early race accident that damaged his car and ultimately ended his night. He was credited with a 22nd place finish.

“We had a decent weekend, but it could’ve ended a lot better,” Moyer comments.  “On Saturday night we were starting deep in the field, but the car felt real good, and I think we could’ve had a good finish.  However, early in the event, cars started stacking up in front of me, and left me with nowhere to go, and we got pretty heavy front end damage.  It was a bad deal, but we’ll regroup and get back after it this weekend.”

Bradford, OH - Wayne Chinn charged to the front as he came from his seventeenth starting position to finish sixth in the 4th annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway located in Clarksville, TN. This was only Chinn's second appearance at the facility, his first coming in 2005 for the same event.

After finishing in the third and final transfer spot in the  B Main event Chinn rolled off the grid for the feature on the inside of the ninth row. Once the green flag flew and racing was under way Chinn started making moves using both the high and low lines of the race track. Living up to his nickname "The Sniper," Chinn picked off his competitors as he quickly moved in to the top ten. The race went caution free until lap 23 when Wendell Wallace tangled with a lap car moving the Erwin Chrysler Dodge Jeep / Sugar Creek Packing / 1 Shot Graphics / AWP of Ohio / Dargie Powered / Rayburn Race Car in to the seventh position, just outside the top five.

Quickly after the feature resumed Chinn worked his way around Brent Kreke moving up to sixth. For the remainder of the event Chinn was glued to the back bumper of Justin Rattliff as he tried to work his way in to the top five. Unable to make a move after the track had taken rubber on the bottom Chinn crossed the finish line in sixth, becoming the hard charger of the event from his starting spot deep in the field.

This coming weekend "The Sniper" will be at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN for the annual Indiana Icebreaker sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Series. For more information on Brownstown Speedway visit www.brownstownspeedway.com and for more on the Lucas Oil Late Model Series go by www.lucasdirt.com.
