NCRA Sprints at Mid-Nebraska Speedway This Saturday Night!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – August 12, 2013 - Current point leader Mike Peters of Wichita, Kansas will lead the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products 360-ci sprint car tour to their regular once a year appearance at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska this coming Saturday night. They will be joined by the new Nebraska 360 sprint car group for one of the biggest sprint car shows in the tracks history.
Peters, who won at the track back in 2009, currently sits atop the series point standings by 55 points over Norman, Oklahoma driver Danny Wood. Three-time and defending series champion C.J. Johnson is 105 points out of the lead and sits third while Jeremy Campbell and Luke Cranston round out the top five. Six through tenth in the point standings and expected to make the trip include: Marc Robe, Jeff Stasa, Jon Freeman, J.D. Johnson and Wyatt Burks,
A strong contingent of Nebraska drivers are also expected to be on hand including defending race champion Austin Gullion, who picked up his first career series victory here last year, Jack Dover, Trevor Grossenbacher, Jordan Boston, Jason Martin and Jason Danley,
As stated, this will be the tenth appearance for the NCRA sprint tour and through that time, eight different have reached victory lane. They include the now retired Garry Lee Maier, who won this event twice with Gullion, Campbell, Chad Humston, Peters, Dover, Chuck Swenson and Jon Johnson having each picked up a victory at the three-eighths mile oval.
Gates for the NCRA sprint car series first and only appearance for the 2013 race season will open at 5:00 PM with racing set for a 7:00 PM start time. General admission tickets are $18 for adults, kids six through twelve get in for just $5 while ages five and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free. Pit passes are $30.
