Big Events Left for NCRA Late Model Tour!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – July 30, 2013 - The National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products late model tour is half way down on their 2013 race schedule and five big races remain as they look to crown yet another tour champion in the post-Kelly Boen era.

Following the steps of last year’s tour champion Tommy Weder, Jr., a rookie leads this year’s point standings as G&G Dozer rookie of the year contender Jacob Magee of Caney, Kansas leads the current standings and holds a 220 point lead over Wichita, Kansas driver Jimmy Segraves. Veteran Gary Gorby, fellow G&G Dozer rookie contender Jeremy Petty and Chase Junghans round out the top five in the point standings.

Ryan Gustin picked up the season opening victory at 81 Speedway in Park City and became the first driver to ever win a season opening event in two of the series tour events in the same season. Also picking up victories were the following: Tony Jackson, Jr. in a co-sanctioned effort with the MARS DIRTcar series at Monett Speedway and 81 Speedway. Segraves picked up his first career series victory at the Belleville High Banks while Kyle Berck laid claim to yet another “NCRA Late Model Nationals” championship at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska.

The rest of the 2013 schedule for the NCRA Late Model tour looks like this:
August 9-10 – Junction Motor Speedway/McCool, Nebraska
August 24 – Thunder Hill Speedway/Mayetta, Kansas
September 1 – Belleville High Banks/Belleville, Kansas
September 20-21 – Salina High Banks Speedway – Salina, Oklahoma

The tenth annual “King of the Hill Late Model Shootout” is next up for the tour and will see their familiar partners of the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association once again part of the event. For the first time in the events history they will be joined by the MARS DIRTcar series.

For the first time since 2010 the tour will make a trip to Thunder Hill Speedway while the annual Labor Day weekend appearance at the Belleville High Banks will once again take place. The 2013 race season is set to come to an end with a special two day event at the Salina High Banks Speedway as they will join forces with the MARS DIRTcar series. This was originally scheduled as a one day event back on June 15th but that event got ppd. by rain.

Remaining Dates for NCRA 360 Sprint Car Tour!

FOR IMMEDIATE REELASE – Park City, Kansas – July 30, 2013 - Five races have been completed on the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products 360-ci sprint car tour and only five races remain as we end the month of July and into the stretch run for the 2013 championship. In what has been the case in the past several years, the point battle will go right down to the last race of the season.

Despite  not having reached victory lane thus far this season, veteran sprint car driver Mike Peters of Wichita, Kansas sits atop the point standings by 55 points over Norman, Oklahoma’s Danny Wood.  Wood is competing full-time on the tour for the first time ever this season and also has yet to reach victory lane.

Defending tour champion C.J. Johnson of Quinter, Kansas sits third in the point standings and just 105 points out of the lead while former tour champion Jeremy Campbell still has a shot at his second championship as he sits 120 points out of the lead.

Sitting sixth through tenth are: Luke Cranston, Marc Robe, Jeff Stasa, Jon Freeman, J.D. Johnson and Michelle Decker.

The five different winners that have reached victory lane in the five events that have been held thus far include: Jason Johnson (81 Speedway), Campbell (81 Speedway), C.J. Johnson (RPM Speedway), Don Droud, Jr. (81 Speedway) and Jack Dover (Kansas State Fairgrounds.)

The five events that are left on the 2013 sprint schedule are as follows:
August 17 – Mid-Nebraska Speedway – Doniphan, Nebraska
September 1 – Belleville High Banks – Belleville, Kansas
September 7 – Junction Motor Speedway – McCool, Nebraska
September 8 – Eagle Raceway – Lincoln, Nebraska
September 28 – Kansas State Fairgrounds – Hutchinson, Kansas

The Mid-Nebraska event is an annual stop on the tour with Adam Gullion picking up his first career tour victory at the track last season.

The Junction Motor Speedway/Eagle Raceway appearances will be co-sanctioned events with the new Nebraska 360 group with the famed half mile oval of the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas set to close out the season and decide the 2013 NCRA 360-ci sprint car champion.

Remaining NCRA Modiified Schedule for 2013!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – July 30, 2013  Seven point races are down and four point races remain as the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansa presented by Precise Racing Products modified division gets set to close out the final three months of racing action for the 2013. And what has been a general trend on the tour looks to repeat itself again this year as the battle for the championship looks to be coming down to the final event on the schedule.

Defending tour champion Marc Hurd of Wichita, Kansas sits atop the point standings and holds s slim 70 point lead over Wichita driver Dan Powers. Dustin Belcher (Wichita) still has a competitive shot at the championship as he is only 100 points out of the top spot. Josh Lanterman (110 points out) and A.J. Brochu (115 points out) are also within striking distance.

Drivers rounding positions 6-10 include: Jon Thompson, Jason McGehee, Don Hodge, Tyler Davis and Justin Moler. Eleven drivers have competed in all seven events while four drivers have missed only one event on the schedule.

The inaugural two-day “Modified Spring Scramble” at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas kicked off the 2013 season with drivers competing in both the qualifying night and championship night earning points. The winner of the $5000 first place prize was Ryan Gustin. Other feature winners include: Davis (81 Speedway), John Allen (81 Speedway), Josh Lanterman (Belleville, High Banks) and Brian Franz (Kansas State Fairgrounds). The victory had the Belleville High Banks was Lanterman’s first ever with the series while Franz’s second career Hutch Nationals Championship also gave drivers points from both nights of racing action.

Dating back to last year, eight different drivers have reached victory lane and eleven out of twelve races have produced a different feature winner. The only repeat during that time was Hurd (Elk City) almost one year ago.

The balance of the 2013 schedule looks like this:
August 17 – Route 66 Motor Speedway/Amarillo, Texas
August 31 – 81 Speedway/Park City, Kansas
September 1 – Belleville High Banks/Belleville, Kansas 
October 12 – 81 Speedway/Park City, Kansas

The next top on the tour at Route 66 Motor Speedway will see the second straight year the Kansas based tour will make the trip to the west Texas speed plant where former NCRA modified south tour champion Gene Weaver brought home the victory in front of the home town crowd.

The annual Labor Day double-header at 81 Speedway and the Belleville High Banks will set the stage for the final point race at 81 Speedway where once again officials are expecting the season feature finale to decide who will become tour champion.
