Dover a NCRA Sprint Master at Junction Motor Speedway!

McCool Junction, Nebraska – June 13, 2015 - Jack Dover outdueled Tyler Drueke the first couple of laps and then survived a late race red flag to capture the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas Presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car feature finale Saturday night at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska in a co-sanctioned event with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 sprint car series.

Drueke and Dover started on the front row for the twenty-five lap feature and it was Dover and Drueke battling for the lead for the first couple of laps before Dover took the lead for good on lap three.

Several caution flags dotted the race and on a lap ten restart, the running order was Dover, third starting Billy Alley, Cody Ledger and Drueke the top five when race action resumed.

On the restart Dover drove away from the field and looked to go non-stop the final laps before near disaster struck with just six laps to go when the steering gear broke on Ryan Roberts #18 sprinter sending him head on into the turn four wall to bring out the red flag. While his sprinter was destroyed, Roberts walked away uninjured.

Dover would lead the final six laps to win his third straight NCRA sprint car feature at Junction Motor Speedway and first series victory of the season. Alley held on for second while Ledger came home third. Drueke settled for a fourth place finish while C.J. Johnson, who came into the night tied for the series point lead, rounded out the top five.

The four, eight lap heat races for the 28 car field were won by Alley, Jake Martens, Drueke and Johnson while series regular Jeff Stasa took home the 12 lap “B” feature honors.

During heat race action, Josh Riggins (3rd heat) and Tyler Forbes (4th heat) took hard flips in their respective heat races. Both drivers walked away uninjured but were done for the night.

The next two events for the NCRA sprint car division happens this coming Father’s Day weekend, June 20-21. It all kicks off on Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City for their second appearance of the season. The tour then travels to the famed Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas for a very special Father’s Day Sunday night encounter atop the half mile oval.
