Billy Moyer’s Win Streak Snapped Via Flat Tire at Virginia Motor…

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS)  Billy Moyer and his BMR team traveled to the Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, Virginia on Friday night, April 11 looking for their third straight World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory.  Billy paced the stout field during WOOLMS qualifying to take fast time honors at the pristine Virginia facility.  A heat race win later in the evening gave "Mr. Smooth" the outside front row starting spot for the $10,000 to win feature event.

Billy took the lead at the drop of the green flag and held the point for the first thirty-three circuits.  Jeremy Miller then took the top spot on lap thirty-four, only to have the famed #21 regain the lead a lap later.  Billy's second stint up front would be short-lived; however, as he was passed by Miller again on lap thirty-six.  The Batesville, Arkansas native was primed for one last push for the lead late in the 50-lapper, but his left rear tire blew on lap forty-five.  At the end of the 'Rumble on the River,' Billy was credited with a disappointing seventeenth place performance.  You can view complete results from this race online at www.worldofoutlaws.com!

“We were at least going to run second to (Jeremy) Miller, but I think we still may have had a shot for the win if not for the flat tire,” quoted the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point leader yesterday.  “The tire started going down a little after the halfway point and that is what allowed him to get by us in the first place.  Don’t get me wrong, he ran a great race, but I have my doubts if he would have been able to catch us if our left rear tire was not going down.  Nonetheless, you have to take the good with the bad and we will try to get back on the good side of things this week at Lernerville and Charlotte!”

The #21 team has two World of Outlaws Late Model Series events on their radar for the upcoming week.  The Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania will play host to the $10,000 to win ‘Showdown in Sarvertown’ tonight, April 15.  The action will then turn south to the state-of-the-art Dirt Track at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday, April 18-19.  The annual ‘Colossal 100’ is on tap at the 4/10-mile oval this weekend and a $50,000 winner’s check is on the line.  You can view more information about the events at Lernerville and Charlotte online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.
