Billy Moyer Makes Late Charge En Route to Runner-Up in Pelican 100
(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) returned to racing action on March 8-9 in the 3rd edition of the 'Pelican 100' at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana. On Friday night during preliminary action, Billy Moyer timed in second quickest in Group B during qualifying prior to winning his heat race.
After starting the $10,000 to win feature event on Saturday from the outside of the second row, Billy found himself towards the front of the field throughout the unsanctioned 100-lapper. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer made a late charge for the win and eventually finished a close runner-up behind only winner Bub McCool. The #21 team has opted to take the upcoming March 15-16 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. They will be working hard on their equipment to ready for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdowns on March 22-23 in the states of Arkansas and Mississippi. The I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas will take center stage on Friday night, while the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi will close out the weekend for the BMR team on Saturday evening.
