Billy Moyer Jr. Finishes 2nd at Magnolia; DTWC Next

Batesville, Arkansas (10/15/13) - It's no secret that it's been a tough year for Billy Moyer Jr. in his #21jr Sparks Motorsports/Crop Production Services/NXS Power Line/Victory Circle by Moyer/Pro Power Racing Engine as he has spent a majority of his time traveling the country with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), competing at tracks he had never even seen. However, over the weekend he returned to familiar territory and recorded an impressive 2nd place finish in the 10th Annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100.

Fifty-two Super Late Models registered for competition at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) in the $20,000-to-win event. Qualifying on Friday evening resulted in Billy starting 2nd in his heat race, and he battled Jimmy Owens for much of the race before settling for a 2nd place finish, which sent him to Saturday night's 100 lap finale in the 8th starting spot.

As the main event went green in front of a massive crowd on Saturday night Billy began marching his way forward, and quickly raced into the top five. As the feature approached the halfway point he found his way into the 2nd spot behind race leader, Jimmy Owens. During the event's late laps Moyer Jr. caught Owens in traffic but couldn't do anything with him as he would settle into a still strong, 2nd place finish.

"This year has really been trying for me, but this event proves that we have all the right pieces in place," commented Moyer Jr. "I can't thank all of my sponsors and fans for their great support. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into next weekend's Lucas Oil finale at Portsmouth."

This weekend, October 18th-19th Billy put the wraps on the 2013 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) as he competes in the 33rd Annual Dirt Track World Championship at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) Billy has already clinched the JRI Shocks Rookie of the Year title and is ninth in the overall series points.
