Billy Moyer Jr. Wins First Event of 2013; North/South 100 Next

Batesville, Arkansas (08/07/13) - Billy Moyer Jr. piloted his #21jr Sparks Motorsports/Crop Production Services/NXS Power Line/Victory Circle by Moyer/Pro Power Racing Engine to his first win of the season on Friday night with a $2,000 triumph with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS).

Billy Moyer Jr. opened a doubleheader with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models on Friday evening at North Central Arkansas Speedway (Yellville, Arkansas), and by the time the checkered flag dropped the 2010 CCSDS Champion had claimed his first win of 2013!

Billy started his night by storming to the win in his heat race to earn the New Vision Graphics Pole Award for the feature with Hunter Durham starting to his outside. When the green flag dropped Moyer Jr. bolted to the lead. That would prove to be as close as anyone got to the Batesville, Arkansas driver as he motored away from the pack to lead all 35 laps of the caution-free event to score his 11th career triumph with the series. He was followed across the finish line by Jesse Stovall, Jack Sullivan, Kyle Beard, and Hunter Durham.

Saturday evening found Billy chasing a $2,500 payday at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), and the night started with Moyer Jr. finishing 3rd in his heat race to lock into the 12th starting spot for the 35 lap finale. In the feature he climbed eight spots to finish 4th behind race winner, Jack Sullivan, Kyle Beard, and Chandler Petty.

This weekend Billy will resume action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) as he makes the trip to Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) for the 31st Annual Sunoco North/South 100, which will post a $50,000 winner's check for Saturday night's finale, which will be taped for future airing by the Lucas Oil Production Studios cameras. Mark Whitener Snags $3k Payday at East Alabama Motor Speedway

Middleburg, Florida (08/07/13) - Mark Whitener powered his #58 Big Frog Motorsports/Dave's Towing/B&B Produce/Barry Wright Late Model to the $3,000 win on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama).

Mark Whitener conquered the $3,000-to-win, National Late Model Series (NLMS) event on Saturday evening for his ninth win of the 2013 campaign!

With 19 entries in the pits Mark qualified 4th fastest and drew the pole position for the feature. William Thomas Sweeps Chevrolet Performance Series Debut

Phenix City, Alabama (08/07/13) - William Thomas enjoyed another incredible weekend in his #A19 Alexander Industrial Services/GRT Super Late Model as he swept both of the inaugural events for the newly-formed Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series.

On Friday night a $3,000-to-win race was contested at Penton Raceway (Penton, Alabama), where 18 entries signed in for action. Thomas started his night by registering the fastest time in qualifications to earn the pole position for the feature with Ronnie Johnson joining him on the front row. As the race went green Thomas shot to the lead, and despite a few close calls with lapped cars William went on to score the win over Johnson, Chase Edge, Tim Busha, and David Brannon.

Saturday night found the action shifting to Thomas' home track, East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama). With the 5th fastest qualifying lap of the night William started 5th in the 50 lap feature and would work his way into the 2nd spot as the race progressed. He stalked leader, Tim Busha, until lap 43 when Busha headed pitside with a flat tire. Thomas inherited the lead and led the last seven laps to claim the win over Richie Stephens, Chase Edge, Ronnie Johnson, and Brent Barrett. The victory was his fourth in a row and his sixth overall on the season.

"It's almost how well things are going for our team right now," an elated Thomas commented. "To win four races straight is just a really big deal for us, and we can't wait to get to the next race!"

Thomas leads the series standings by 12 points over Ronnie Johnson.

Jacob Hawkins Goes Two-for-Three in Weekend Action

Fairmont, West Virginia (08/07/13) – Jacob Hawkins enjoyed a great weekend behind the wheel of his #20h St. Henry Nite Club/Rocket/Dargie Racing Engine Super Late Model over the weekend as he won two of the three events that he entered.

Friday night found Hawkins pitted at Beckley Motorsports Park (Beckley, West Virginia) for the Down 'N Dirty 30.  Nineteen Super Late Models entered the program, and after qualifying 6th fastest Hawkins started 6th in the dash before advancing to a 4th place finish.  His dash performance locked him into the 4th starting spot for the feature, and that's where he would finish behind race winner, Mike Benedum, Rick Williams, and Zack Dohm.  Full results are available at www.BeckleyMotorsports.com.

On Saturday evening the team returned to Ohio Valley Speedway (Lubeck, West Virginia) for a $2,000-to-win, ADRA program.  Via preliminary action Jacob locked into the 4th starting spot for the feature and would go on to advance to the lead and the win in the special event!  Full results from the event are available at www.ohiovalleyspeedway.com.

Hawkins' winning ways for the weekend weren't finished on Saturday night though as the team invaded Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) on Sunday evening for the Bob Weigle Memorial, which was held as part of the 51st Annual Tyler County Fair.  For the second-straight night Jacob would find himself charging to the lead and the win.  With the $1,500 win Hawkins increased his 2013 win tally to six!

Eddie Carrier Jr. Returns to Victory Lane with Hatfield-McCoy Triumph

Salt Rock, West Virginia (08/07/13) - Eddie Carrier Jr. shook the monkey off his back on Saturday night and piloted his #28 Grover Motorsports/Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $5,000 win in the inaugural Hatfield-McCoy at 201 Speedway (Sitka, Kentucky).

An off weekend from Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition turned into Eddie Carrier Jr.'s third win of the 2013 campaign with a triumph in the Hatfield-McCoy 50 at 201 Speedway (Sitka, Kentucky).

The race posted a $5,000-to-win purse, and with 32 cars entered Carrier Jr. swept the program by setting fast time honors with a 13.022 second lap around the oval before winning his heat race and blazing to the win in the feature event! Josh McGuire, R.J. Conley, Zach Dohm, and Walker Arthur rounded out the top five finishers in the final rundown.

"When you start struggling it seems like you will never get back to good again, but a win like this can quickly make you feel happy again," a relieved Carrier Jr. said.
