Billy Moyer Jr. Matches Career Win with Wooldridge $10k Triumph

Batesville, Arkansas (07/14/14) - Matching the biggest win of his career Billy Moyer Jr. swept the 27th Annual Butterball Wooldridge Memorial at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, KY) for the $10,000 payday on Saturday night in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Billy started his night by lowering the track record, and then cruised to the victory in his heat race to earn the pole for the feature. The finale found him leading all 50 laps in his #21jr Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model to claim his seventh win of the season in front of a capacity crowd. Duane Chamberlain, Ben Adkins, Michael Chilton, and Stephen Breeding rounded out the top five finishers.

“Man, I wish I could just race in Kentucky every weekend,” Moyer Jr. said after winning his second race in the Bluegrass State in as many weeks and his fourth of the season. “You never know what to expect going to a track that you’ve never seen, but our car was great out of the box. My team is doing a great job, and I have to thank my sponsors and family for their great support.”

On Friday night Billy Moyer Jr. competed at Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) in the $10,000-to-win affair with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Billy's night started strong as he qualified third fastest in his group before screaming to the win in his heat race to lock into the pole position for the 50 lap finale with Steve Francis starting alongside. The team had high hopes for the feature, and for the first 30 laps Billy battled in the top three. However, a late caution resulted in Moyer Jr.'s tires glazing over, and he would slip backwards before ultimately crossing the finish line in the ninth position. The upcoming week will be a busy one for Jr. Motorsports. Action opens on Tuesday night at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) with a $10,000-to-win affair. Action then shifts to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) for the 4th Annual Silver Dollar Nationals, which posts a $30,000-to-win finale. Jeff Taylor Claims Victories and Dakota Classic Modified Title

Cave City, Arkansas (07/15/14) – It was a wild and crazy week on the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, but when it was all said and done Jeff had claimed two wins and the series championship in his #5 Jeff Taylor Racing/Industrial Electric/Provence Construction/New Vision Graphics/Taylor Chassis/Mullins Race Engine Modified.

Jeff opened the 25th Annual Dakota Classic Modified Tour at Nodak Speedway (Minot, North Dakota). With eighty-four entries on hand for the $2,000-to-win race, Jeff started his night by charging from ninth to win his heat race, earning him a spot in the redraw for the feature. Taylor drew the fourth starting spot for the finale, and led all 30 laps to score the victory over Ryan Ruter, Shawn Strand, Brian Mullen, and Adam Larson.

Round #2 of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour was held on Monday night at Estevan Motor Speedway (Estevan, SK) as sixty-seven competitors registered for the $2,000-to-win program. The night started with Taylor once again winning his heat race to lock into the feature. After drawing the pole position for the main event, Jeff went on to another dominating performance. Claiming his second victory in as many nights over Steven Pfeifer, Curt Lund, Shawn Anderson, and Scott Drake.

Tuesday night took the team to Williston Basin Speedway (Williston, North Dakota) for the next round of the mini-series. Seventy-six entries were on hand for the program, and Taylor's started with struggles in heat race action that forced him to run a b-main. In the b-main Jeff finished third to lock into the nineteenth starting spot on the feature grid. Taylor charged through the field during the course of the 30 lap finale to finish third behind race winner, Jordan Grabouski, and Steven Pfeifer.

Jeff Taylor continued his quest for the 25th Annual Dakota Classic Modified Championship on Wednesday night at Southwest Speedway (Dickinson, North Dakota). Seventy-nine Open Wheel Modifieds registered for battle, and in preliminary action Jeff picked up the win in his heat race to lock into the seventh starting spot for the feature. In the main even Taylor advanced to a second place finish behind race winner, Ryan Ruter. Jordan Grabouski, Jeremy Keller, and Scott Drake rounded out the top five finishers.

On Thursday night action shifted to Dacotah Speedway (Mandan, North Dakota for Round #5 on the tour. A record setting ninety-two competitors filled the pit area for the $2,000-to-win program. Jeff started ninth in his heat race and was running second when disaster struck for the Cave City, Arkansas driver. A mechanical failure in the right front suspension sent Taylor into the turn-one guardrail, leaving heavy damage to his entry. Jeff piloted Shawn Strand's backup car in the feature and raced from his 25th starting spot to a fourteenth place finish.

Jeff concluded the 2014 edition of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour on Friday night at Jamestown Speedway (Jamestown, North Dakota). With eighty entries in the pit area Taylor advanced from the sixth starting spot to claim the win in his heat race. Via his heat win he locked into the fifth starting spot in the finale. In the feature Taylor went on to race in the top five throughout the event before crossing the finish line in the third spot behind race winner, Justin Obrien, and Justin Yeager.

“What an insane week it was,” said Taylor with a laugh. “Even though we wrecked on the next to last night it was really a successful week for us, and so many people pitched in to make it happen, and I can’t thank them enough.” Taylor concluded by saying, “I especially have to thank Shawn Strand for providing me with a car to finish the deal. Without him, I definitely don’t win this title.”
