Billy Moyer Jr. Bags Pair of Top Tens in NDRL Action; Pelican Next

Batesville, Arkansas (03/13/14) - Billy Moyer Jr. enjoyed a successful weekend in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Mesilla Valley Transportation/Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn Super Late Model as he claimed a pair of top ten finishes in National Dirt Racing League competition.

It was back to business with the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Super Late Models on Friday evening as Billy Moyer Jr. entered the first event of his career at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee).
The $7,500-to-win, Tennessee Tip-Off Classic drew a strong field of 40 Super Late Models to the 1/2 mile, speed plant. Billy qualified second fastest in his group and went on to record a 3rd place finish in his heat race to lock into the tenth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. A fast track made passing difficult in the feature, but Moyer Jr. would manage to race his way to a 9th place finish.

Saturday night found a $12,500-to-win program contested for the NDRL competitors, and the night started flawlessly for Billy as he set fast time in his group and then blazed to the win in his heat race to lock into the redraw for the feature. The redraw presented Moyer Jr. with the pole for the 60 lap finale, and he would lead the first 44 laps before his tires began to go away. Chris Madden slipped past for the lead on lap 45, and Moyer Jr. battled his car over the final dozen laps to record a fifth place finish behind race winner, Madden, Mike Marlar, Scott Bloomquist, and Jonathan Davenport.

Billy is now seventh in the latest NDRL standings. Full results from the program and the latest standings are available at www.TheNDRL.com .
This weekend, March 13th-15th, Billy will be in action at the 4th Annual Pelican 100 at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana). Thursday night will see an open practice being held with Friday night's program featuring time trials and heat races. On Saturday evening consolation events and the $10,000-to-win finale will be held. For more information on the event, please visit www.ArkLaTexSpeedway.com .
