Bergman Rebounds to Post Top 10 at AGCO Jackson Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 6, 2016) - Seth Bergman bookended the 38th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals with strong performances.

Bergman opened the event at Jackson Motorplex last Friday by winning a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. That locked him into the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 4 to start the 25-lap main event on the outside of the second row.

1"The car didn't want to take off very well," he said. "It stumbled a bit on the start of the heat race, but it worked out that we got the win. Unfortunately, the problem got worse in the main event."

Bergman quickly dropped toward the bottom of the top 10, where he raced for the first quarter of the feature before exiting the track on Lap 9. Bergman was unable to resume action and he was credited with a 20th-place result.

The team put a spare engine in for Sunday's AGCO Jackson Nationals finale, but the result was similar as Bergman did not finish his heat race and was unable to start a B Main. The team replaced the fuel cell and continued to seek out the culprit of the mechanical problem.

Bergman used a provisional to start last - 24th - in the 25-lap main event.

"We still didn't have everything right," he said. "We just kept working on it. There was a red flag a few laps into the race and we pulled into the work area. Our team never gave up."

Bergman restarted at the back of the pack following the red flag on Lap 3. He then began to charge toward the front of the field as he powered from last to a 10th-place result, which also garnered the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

While the finish of the event was strong for Bergman his work is only beginning. The team broke down in Kansas City on the way to Jackson Motorplex last week. Fellow competitor Aaron Reutzel towed Bergman's trailer to the track. Bergman headed back to Oklahoma from the facility with racer Harli White, who is loaning him a truck to allow Bergman to retrieve his trailer and compete this Friday and Saturday at Billings Motorsports Park in Billings, Mont., for the $7,500-to-win Dan Laber Memorial with the NSA Shootout.

"I can't thank Aaron and his team enough for helping us get to the track as well as Harli and her team for the opportunity to not only get home, but to race this weekend," Bergman said. "Hopefully everything goes well and we can make it to Billings, put on a show and come home with a win or two."

Blaney Regains All Star Points Lead Following Pair of Podiums in Ohio

Inside Line Promotions - ORRVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 6, 2016) - Dale Blaney scored a pair of third-place results last weekend to give him four consecutive podium finishes with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

Blaney and the Mainstream Holdings, Inc. sponsored CH Motorsports team now holds an eight-point lead in the All Star championship standings with five points-paying races remaining this season.

"We've been running really good," he said. "We've been in the hunt every night. I think we've been in the dash every night since Knoxville last month. We're qualifying well and running well and that's what it's going to take to win a championship. If we could finish third every night the rest of the year we'll probably be on top at the end."

Last weekend began on Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, where Blaney qualified fourth quickest overall and third in his group to open the Dirt Classic Ohio event. He then won a heat race to lock into the dash.

"Qualifying fourth was ok," he said. "We got fortunate and were in the right spot on the front row of a heat. We had a little motor problem the last three or four laps, but we hung on. We had to change the motor after the heat race. The night went pretty fast. We got that thing changed and started up and the dash was rolling. We won it and that put us on the pole for the A."

Blaney's dash victory gave him the pole position for the main event.

"We didn't have much time to concentrate and think about what we wanted to do with the race car," he said. "The track had a few rough spots in turn three. It was just different all around. Sheldon (Haudenschild) led early. He did a 360 and kept going. I led for four or five laps. Byron (Reed) passed me and then we had a yellow. Sheldon drove back to the front and passed us both.

To start first and run third was disappointing, but it was a good night for us."

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Wayne County Speedway, where Blaney timed in second quickest, advanced to third place in a heat race and maneuvered to second place in the dash to start the feature on the outside of the front row.

"I fell to third on the first lap and then ran second for a long time," he said. "In traffic late Cole Duncan got by me. We'll take another third place."

Blaney will take his All Star points lead into Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., for the Tuscarora 50 this Friday and Saturday.

QUICK RESULTS -

Sept. 3 - Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio - Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 1 (2); Dash: 1 (1); Feature: 3 (1).
