FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wheatland, Missouri (August 4, 2016) - A pair of additions to the Lucas Oil MLRA schedule and an untimely rainout have setup the biggest stretch of racing over the course of one week, in the 28 year history of the Lucas Oil MLRA. It all starts Monday, August 8 and runs through Saturday, August 13, with five races slated for the six day time period.

The swing commences with a pair of shows at Keith Simmons promoted race tracks. For the second year in a row, MLRA competitors will be running in the Monday Mayhem and Tornado Tuesday events at Farley Speedway and West Liberty Raceway in eastern Iowa. Both shows pay $10,000 to win and will draw some of the most diverse fields of the entire year. Coming off a huge Late Model weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway and another slated for the following weekend at Florence Speedway, many teams stop in and run in between the crown jewels.

Once the dust settles on the first two shows of the week, action moves north to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota for the first ever Lucas Oil MLRA race held in the state. One of the most anticipated shows in recent memory, Wednesday's $5,000 to win tilt promises to be one for the ages. The Queensland family owns and operates the track widely regarded as one of the top racing facilities and destinations in the country.

Thursday will present a much needed off day for teams to travel south and west to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska. The speedway has proven to be wide open as far as winner's since Kelly Boen retired. New this year at Junction is an increased race purse. Friday's show will pay $3,000 to win and Saturday's feature winner will pocket $5,000. Delmar Friesen and his family operate the track and are longtime supporters of dirt Late Model racing and the Lucas Oil MLRA.

These five races will go a long way towards determining the series champion for the 2016 season. They represent half of the remaining events on the season schedule. Jesse Stovall continues to lead the standings. Terry Phillips, Jason Papich, Dave Eckrich and Tad Pospisil complete the top five. Last season Stovall won both the Farley and Junction stops. Billy Moyer took the checkers at West Liberty Raceway.
