McCool Junction, NE (August 10th, 2013) - There was no let down in action or excitement Saturday night at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska, as the King of the Hill Shootout came to a close. Tony Jackson Jr. took the lead from Will Vaught with twelve laps to go and rolled on to the checkers.

"We got took off there pretty good," said Jackson. "We had a good race there with Jesse and Will for a while. We just kept working Will over and finally he made a mistake and I got past him. I knew it was a long race and I didn't want to get my right rear tire too hot. I just lucked out and had a great night."

Junction Motor Speedway's weekly Late Model points leader, Jase Kaser was the night's KRC Top Qualifier and started on the pole. Jesse Stovall set the pace early and led the first ten laps. Vaught then took over, for the middle portion of the race. A late yellow set up a single file restart with four laps to go. Terry Phillips jumped in front of Kyle Berck and grabbed third when the race went green.

The next Lucas Oil MLRA event will be held Saturday, August 31st at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.

Vaught Breaks Through in McCool Junction

McCool Junction, NE (August 9th, 2013) - Will Vaught was in the right place at the right time Friday night, in the Lucas Oil MLRA King of the Hill event at Junction Motor Speedway, and came away victorious. While running second with nine laps to go, Travis Dickes' engine expired and Vaught took over the top spot. He then held off Tony Jackson Jr. to score his first Lucas Oil MLRA win of the season.

Vaught fought a tight race car and carburetor issues, but overall was happy to earn the win. "It was good," stated Vaught. "We'll take a win anyway we can do it. Tony (Jackson) had a really good car. It was unfortunate for Travis (Dickes) to blow a motor there. He was probably gonna win this deal. Tomorrow night hopefully we can beat them fair and square. We've got a little tweaking to do to this thing. If it slows down, we're gonna be really good."

Dickes led the first sixteen laps after earning the pole position through heat race passing points. Once in lapped traffic Jackson closed in and briefly took the lead, however a yellow wiped out his pass. On the restart with ten laps left, Terry Phillips and Jackson made contact which allowed Vaught to slide up from third to second.

Jackson raced Vaught tough and came up just a bit short at the checkers, finishing second. The podium was rounded out by Kyle Berck, who went from eighth to third in front of a lively fan base, who cheered his move forward.

Tomorrow the grandstand opens at 5:00 PM with a special driver meet and greet. Make plans to be at the track early and check out your favorite drivers race car and get an autograph or two prior to the show.
