FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wheatland, MO (June 24th, 2015) - With the temperature rising outside, so has the Lucas Oil MLRA action on the track. This weekend will feature another pair of exciting shows. Friday the 14th Annual Alphabet Soup race will commence from I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska. Saturday the tour heads back to Iowa for the Ray Houck Liberty 50 at Adams County Speedway.

"With the bad weather last year, we weren't able to get either of these races in," said Lucas Oil MLRA Race Director Ernie Leftwich. "We are all more than ready to bring these shows back this year to all the great fans in the area and beyond. These places are both big and fast and always put on great racing."

Friday's event pays $3,000 to win, while Saturday features a $5,000 top prize to the winner of the 50 lap feature. Jesse Stovall comes in on a two race winning streak and is a former Liberty 50 winner. Terry Phillips sits at the top of the standings, with Ryan Gustin just 22 markers back. Jason Utter, Jeremy Payne and RC Whitwell complete the balance of the top five.

Through the first eight races of the season, six different drivers have graced Andy's Frozen Custard Victory Lane.

Ryan Gustin and Tony Jackson Jr. are the two most current winners of these respective races, held in 2013. Gustin's I-80 Speedway win in July of 2013, awarded him a provisional which he utilized to race to the lead of the Silver Dollar Nationals. Jackson's Adams County Speedway win, put him in the points lead for the first time that season. He rolled on to capture the Lucas Oil MLRA championship.

Series points leader Terry Phillips is eying the weekend with anticipation. Phillips has knocked down several wins over the years at I-80 Speedway and is looking for his first at Adams County Speedway.

"I-80 is one of my favorite tracks," stated Phillips. "There are so many good cars there, the heats can be kind of tough with a bad draw, but the features are usually really good. The Kosiski's always put on a good show. The track is wide and shaped good. It races really well."

Adams County Speedway has provided its share of challenges to Phillips over the years.

"I was leading there back in 2012 and Jesse Stovall passed me for the lead. The dirt there is really good. I like the speed we carry around it. It seems like the line changes quite a bit which is tough to keep up with."

"We're not having the best year overall," Phillips concluded. "To be out front in the points makes me feel pretty good. I just go week to week and try not to race over my head or do something stupid. We'll see how the points shake out in the fall."
