FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WHEATLAND, MO (May 18th, 2015) - In what has become a huge kick off to a blockbuster weekend of racing, Lucas Oil MLRA and Lucas Oil Speedway officials are excited to welcome fans from across the country to Lucas Oil Speedway for the 23rd Annual Lucas Oil Show Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com. The weekend begins Thursday with the 2nd Annual Cowboy Classic.

The stars of the the Lucas Oil MLRA, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and beyond will all converge for a $5,045 payday. Plus there is an additional $500 from Kenny's Tile and a one off custom pedal car courtesy of Bob Hiller.

Last season Scott Bloomquist held off an extremely talented field of over 60 of the nation's best to earn the victory. Time trials will set the heat race field. During intermission, the top three finishers in each heat will redraw for feature starting positions amongst their fellow finishers in the other qualifying heats.

This race is a celebration to honor the late Allen "Cowboy" Chancellor, who passed away just over a year ago. Along with his wife Harriett, Cowboy successfully oversaw the Lucas Oil MLRA for many years. Cowboy and Harriett played a key role in shaping the MLRA into what it is today. What a way to honor Cowboy, a Lucas Oil MLRA race at one of his favorite places in the world!

"The response for the Thursday night Cowboy Classic is just huge," commented Lucas Oil MLRA Series Director Dan Robinson. "We're glad to be able to celebrate and remember Cowboy along with our great fans. He did so much for Dirt Late Model racing in the Midwest. I hope he's proud of the race."
