Austin Hubbard Claims Second Victory of 2013; Firecracker 100 Next

Seaford, Delaware (06/27/13) - Austin Hubbard enjoyed a great weekend in his #11 Trinity Logistics/Hubbard Motorsports/Mastersbilt by Huey/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model as he competed in Maryland and Delaware, and by the time the action was complete he had claimed his second win of the 2013 campaign.

On Friday night he traveled to Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) for a $3,000-to-win, unsanctioned event, which drew a field of twenty-eight Super Late Models to the historic, 1/2 mile oval. In the feature Austin battled in the top five throughout the event, and actually took the lead from Jamie Lathroum on lap 25 before settling into a fourth place finish behind race winner, Lathroum, Gregg Satterlee, and Jeremy Miller.

Full results from the event are available at www.HagerstownSpeedway.com .

Saturday night took Austin to his home track, Delaware International Speedway (Delmar, Delaware) for the Fall Nationals Qualifier. Hubbard would score his second win of the year by the time the night was over, but it was far from easy for the 21-year-old driver. He started the night by winning his heat race from the last starting spot to earn the apparent pole for the feature, but with the top ten cars inverted for feature action he started tenth alongside Ricky Elliott, who was riding a seven race winning streak into the event. Hubbard wasted little time working his way forward as he was up to the third spot by lap 3 as he worked the cushion. One lap later he bolted to the top spot and never looked back on his way to the victory, which came over Donald Lingo Jr., David Hill, David Pettyjohn, and Lou Johnson.

Full results are available at www.DelawareRacing.com .

This weekend, June 27th-29th, Hubbard will participate in the 7th Annual Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania), which will be sanctioned by the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models. The big money weekend starts with complete shows on Thursday and Friday that will be headlined by $6,000-to-win features, and on Saturday night a $30,000-to-win finale will be held. For those not able to attend you can watch all of the action live via pay-per-view at www.DirtOnDirt.com . The Hubbard Motorsports souvenir trailer will also be on hand this weekend with the latest apparel and die-cast cars available. For more information on the event, please visit www.WoOLMS.com .

Jake Griffin Claims Podium Finish in JEGS/CRA Competition at Salem

Quincy, Illinois (06/27/13) – Another busy extended weekend of racing began for Jake Griffin on Saturday at Salem Speedway (Salem, Indiana) with the JEGS/CRA All Star Tour at the speed plant.

The day started with the team having to make quick repairs as a hole was knocked in the oil pan in practice. Luckily the team was able to get it repaired in time for Jake to qualify eleventh fastest on the grid for the 100 lap finale. Early in the event Jake would drop back through the field with an ill-handling car, but after a pit stop for changes he exhibited great patience on the high-banked, asphalt oval as he raced his way back through the pack to finish third behind race winner, Cody Coughlin, and Thomas Woodin. Full results from the program as well as the latest series' standings are available at www.CRA-Racing.com .

Sunday evening found the team looking to compete at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) in their #08 Dirt Open Wheel Modified, but rain forced the program to be canceled.

As a result the team traveled to Quad City Speedway (East Moline, Illinois) for the second-straight Sunday to enter a Weekly Racing Series Event. With twenty-seven entries on hand Jake blazed to fast time honors to earn the pole for the first heat race. A third place finish in his heat race positioned him starting seventh in the feature. Unfortunately Griffin's outing in the main event would come to an early end, when a slide job gone bad from another competitor ended his night. Full results from the event are available at www.QCSpeedwayRacing.com .

The next week of racing looks to be a busy time with Jake Griffin Racing taking part in several Dirt Open Wheel Modified events as shown below:

June 28th: Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, IL) - Tentative
June 29th: UMP Summit Nationals - Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, MO)

Josh McGuire Cashes In Again at Skyline; Earns Podium Portsmouth Finish!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire continued his unbelievable track record at Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio on Friday night, June 21, as he captured yet another feature win at the Buckeye State venue! Josh earned Fast Time honors during qualifying with his lap of 13.01 seconds and later took the win in heat race action. After starting from the pole position in the weekly main event, Josh dominated the race to cash the $1,500 payday over Freddie Carpenter, Jason Montgomery, Delmas Conley, and Ralph Withem!

On Saturday evening, June 22, the Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team rolled into Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a $2,000 to win regular weekly show. Josh timed in second quickest during the qualifying session and later placed sixth in the dash. After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the A-Main, Josh was able to move past three competitors on his way to a podium finish behind only winner Rod Conley and runner-up R.J. Conley. Complete results from both Ohio speedplants can be found online at www.skylinespeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

"It was a solid weekend for us at Skyline and Portsmouth," exclaimed McGuire today via telephone. "We always enjoy racing at Skyline and that place has been really good to me over the years. Then at Portsmouth, we were pretty good, but we need to get a lot better before the Lucas Oil race there next week. I am looking forward to the big 4th of July holiday, as we have run well at each of those four tracks. Hopefully, with all of the money up for grabs, we can run up to our potential and put forth some strong showings at Zanesville, Portsmouth, Southern Ohio, and 201."

The #41 team has opted to take the upcoming June 28-29 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition to prepare their equipment for a huge week of racing surrounding the 4th of July holiday. Josh plans to enter four high-profile events from July 3-6 in the states of Ohio and Kentucky. A total of $31,000 in top prizes will be up for grabs next week.
