Randy Korte Wraps Up Season with $2,000 Haubstadt ALMS Triumph!

(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS)  Randy Korte, of Highland, Illinois, closed out his 2013 racing season with a bang on Saturday night, September 28 at the immaculate Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, as he picked up his first career American Late Model Series (ALMS) feature win!  After recording a heat race victory, Randy outdueled Bobby Pierce in the A-Main to score the $2,000 payday.  The driver known as "King Kong" beat Pierce, Tanner English, Brandon Thirlby, and Rodney Melvin to the checkers to notch his eighth triumph in his 2013 season finale.  Teammate Jason Riggs was also in action at Haubstadt and was running fifth late in the feature until a lapped car flattened his tire, which dropped him to a disappointing nineteenth place finish.

Earlier in the weekend, Randy and the Riggs Motorsports team were in the pit area on Friday evening, September 27 at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois.  Randy clicked off the third fastest lap in his group during ALMS qualifying and later ran fifth in his heat race.  Following a win in his B-Main, Randy was able to climb all the way up to fifth in the $2,000 to win main event to finish behind only victor Bobby Pierce, Tim Manville, Brian Diveley, and Kevin Weaver.  Complete results from the ALMS doubleheader can be obtained by clicking on www.dirtondirt.com.

While Randy Korte has opted to conclude his '13 campaign due to impending hip surgery, Jason Riggs has kept the door open to prolong his season.  The #81jr team will sit idle over the October 4-5 weekend, but Jason is currently mulling over different options to race somewhere in the upcoming weeks.  Keep logging onto www.riggsmotorsports.com to view the latest schedule information concerning the Riggs Motorsports team!
