from GA and LIVE in FL

WAYCROSS, GA (July 14, 2013) - Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are excited to announce that the series will kick off the 2014 season at Golden Isles Speedway on February 6th, 7th and 8th in Brunswick, GA for the "Super Bowl of Racing". After three action packed nights of racing in Georgia, the series will then head south to the famed "Clay by the Bay" for the running of the 38th Annual East Bay Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL. The series will have the usual practice session on Sunday night, February 9th before the racing action begins on Monday night, February 10th with six straight nights of racing concluding on Saturday night, February 15th. 2014 will mark the 10th straight year the series has sanctioned the Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL, which has always provided some of the most thrilling racing action on the 1/3 mile oval.

The 2014 edition of the "Super Bowl of Racing", sanctioned by the LOLMDS, will consist of three full nights of racing at GIS. Thursday night, February 6th the series will run a $5,000 to win and $500 to start non-points feature event. Then on Friday night February 7th the LOLMDS will run a $10,000 to win and $800 to start feature event followed by another $10,000 to win, $800 to start feature event on Saturday February 8th. Both Friday night and Saturday night's events will be the first point's events of the 2014 season.

In addition to three full nights of racing action at Golden Isles Speedway, Lucas Oil Production Studios and TV their cameras will be on hand to tape both Friday night and Saturday night's events for broadcast on the MAVTV American Real Network. The only previous visit by the LOLMDS to the racy South Georgia facility came in 2008, when Earl Pearson Jr of Jacksonville, FL made a last lap pass in dramatic fashion to win the event in front of the Lucas Oil TV cameras. The previous GIS event is still considered one of the best TV races of all time on the series.

"We have really missed racing over the past couple years, but we're ready to be back fresh and re-energized to keep the tradition of the Super Bowl of Racing going during Speedweeks next year. We, like so many people, went through a rough spell with the economy in this area and we had to shut the place down in 2010. We let some people lease the track for a few races and we tried to sell the place but never really got the right offer. The economy has picked up in this area now, so we opened the track back up this year to run local shows and we're doing well", stated Frankie Lloyd, owner of Golden Isles Speedway.

"We've hired some good people to help run this track and we're excited how things have gone so far in 2013. We have talked amongst the staff here about being a part of speedweeks again in 2014 and having the super late models here again. We decided to run our traditional Super Bowl of Racing again in 2014, like we did in years past before we closed. Regardless whether we had a sanctioning body come in or not we were committed to running our Super Bowl of Racing in 2014. So I contacted Ritchie Lewis with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series about bringing the series back to GIS in 2014. We really feel the LOLMDS is the premier national touring series for super late models and the best fit for our race track. You add in their TV package and the exposure it will bring to our track to show the fans all over the country how good the racing can be here - is an added bonus. We're excited and thrilled to have the LOLMDS back and look forward to putting a great weekend of racing on for the all the fans in this area and for all the fans that travel and make it their first stop for speedweeks in 2014", stated Frankie Lloyd.

The 38th Annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL will consist of two $5,000 to win shows on Monday and Tuesday nights, followed by two $7,000 to win shows on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The series points nights begin on Friday and Saturday, with a pair of $10,000 to win feature events. The LOLMDS is also thrilled to announce that the Friday Night event at East Bay Raceway Park will air LIVE on the MAVTV American Real Network. This will mark the first time in the history of the LOLMDS that a series event will air LIVE. Saturday Nights event at East Bay Raceway Park will be taped to air on MAVTV at a later date in 2014.

"We always enjoy having the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series come to our track every year. It's always the biggest event for us as a staff each year. Doing Live TV in 2014 will be an exciting challenge that were looking forward too. The professionalism and team work that the Lucas Oil staff brings is always a pleasure to be associated with. We're very excited to be a part of history with the LOLMDS and hosting their first ever Live event!" stated Al Varnadore, President of East Bay Raceway Park.
