Jimmy Mars Records Third $50,000 Win of Season in Dirt Track World Championship!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN)  Menomonie, Wisconsin native Jimmy Mars captured his unprecedented third $50,000 victory of the year on Sunday, October 18 at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana!  The 29th Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship' was held at the Cincinnati area venue over the weekend and 71 of the best Dirt Late Model drivers in the country were in attendance.  Jimmy started out the weekend by posting the second quickest lap in his group and overall during qualifying on Saturday afternoon and later won his heat race.

When DTWC action heated back up on Sunday afternoon, Jimmy started the 100-lap feature event from the outside of the front row.  After taking a back seat to polesitter Ray Cook during the early stages of the race, Jimmy grabbed the top spot from Cook on lap 27.  The win did not come easy for the driver known as the "Iceman," as he had to fend off challenges from Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, and finally Brady Smith.  Officially, Jimmy led 73 of the 100 circuits and crossed the finish line ahead of Brady Smith, Rick Eckert, Earl Pearson, Jr., and Steve Francis to pocket the $50,000 payday.  You can view complete results from the prestigious DTWC by clicking on www.dirttrackworldchampionship.net.

"This whole year has been unbelievable and to add my name to the winners list of the Dirt Track World Championship is just unreal," quoted Mars this week.  "I had my hands full throughout the race, as Ray (Cook) was really strong early and then Rick (Eckert) and Brady (Smith) both challenged for the lead later in the race.  I didn't know exactly where to be on the racetrack, but when Brady showed him his nose with about ten laps to go, I figured I better try to fend him off on the bottom.  I can't thank my brother Chris enough, as well as my entire crew, Dave Deppe, all of my great sponsors, and my family for all of their support throughout this season and my entire career.  This dream season would not have been possible without all of their help!"

The Mars Racing team plans to take a month off from Dirt Late Model action before invading the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday and Saturday, November 20-21.  The 'Silver State Dirt Championships' will be held at LVMS and a $5,000 top prize will be up for grabs in the first ever topless Dirt Late Model event at the pristine facility.  You can learn more about the two-day show, which will be sanctioned by the Western DIRTcar Allstars Series, by pointing your web browser to www.lvms.com.

Gary Christian To Invade Whynot Motorsports Park

Broken Bow, OK (10/22/09) – Gary Christian will make his first career trek this weekend to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi this weekend in his #58x Pannell Chipping/LCM Cedar Fiber/GRT Super Late Model for the 15th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic.

The team was in action over the weekend in the Louisiana State Championships at Baton Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model tour.  Gary earned the 10th starting spot for the feature on an extremely rough race track, but quickly made his way toward the front and just past the race's midway point, he took possession of the second spot.  However, bad luck would strike a few laps later when he lost his left rear tire sending him pitside.  With a fresh tire he would rejoin the back of the pack and charge back to a fifth place finish by the time that the checkered flag fell on the feature event.

This weekend, October 23rd-24th, Christian Motorsports will travel to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for the 15th Annual Coors Light Fall Class 75.  This will mark the first time that the team has been to the racy, 3/8 mile oval, and Gary is eager to go into battle in the $15,000 to win event.  The weekend gets underway on Friday, October 23rd with group qualifications and heat race action.  On Saturday, October 24th the action wraps up with b-mains and the 75 lap feature.  For more information, please visit www.WhynotMotorsportsPark.com .

Gary and everyone at Christian Motorsports would like to thank all of their sponsors, which include Pannell Chipping, Team 5 Enterprise, LCM Cedar Fiber, MSRMafia.com, Smith Equipment, Integra Racing Shocks, Out-Pace Racing Products, and Fast Shafts.
