The Mid America Racing Series (MARS) tour will be coming to Legit Speedway this Saturday night. The Late Model racing tour, which covers the Midwest and features some of the best Late Model cars and drivers in the nation, will bring a large field of drivers to Legit Speedway. Tony Jackson Jr from Lebanon, 4-time winner on the MARS circuit this season, is the current MARS points leader. Justin Asplin from Birch Tree has finished in the top 10 at least a dozen times this season, with runner-up finishes in a couple of those races. He is currently in 2nd place in the MARS points standings. Justin also has a runner-up finish and another top 5 finish at Legit this season and is currently 16th in the points at Legit Speedway, even with only 2 appearances this season.  Brandon McCormick from Lebanon, Mo is in 3rd and plans to be at Legit on Saturday for the big MARS sanctioned race that will pay $3000 to the winner. Many of the top MARS series drivers plan to be on the track Saturday along with the impressive field of Late Model regulars. Look for former Show-Me 100 winner Wendell Wallace to be on the track as well. He likes the track and has scored a win in his other 2 appearances at Legit this season. It will be an exciting night of Late Model action, as they battle it out in the 40-lap feature. With the increased purse and no competing Late Model events in the immediate area, Saturday should produce a large field of Late Models for the MARS sanctioned event.

The MARS late model race will be just one part of the action, as the usual field of Bone Stock, Hobby Stock, Super Stock, IMCA Modified and USRA B Mod cars will be in competition as well. If the weather cooperates, look for a large crowd to be on hand. This weekends races are being co-sponsored by Colton’s Steak House of West Plains and West Plains Resaw.

The gates will open at 5 p.m. Saturday with hot laps at 6:30 and racing action at 7. Check out all the news, points standings, driver interview videos and more at www.legitspeedway.com or follow us on facebook.
