Entries Rolling in for Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100

Columbus, Mississippi (10/01/14) Just a little over a week remains until the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 comes to life at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi as the huge event will be held on Thursday-Saturday, October 9th-11th, 2014.

With the early entry deadline rapidly approaching this Saturday, October 4th, Dirt Late Model pilots from across the country are filing entries for the $20,000-to-win/$1,200-to-start mega-event. Leading the list of entries received thus far is defending race winner, Jimmy Owens from Newport, Tennessee. Last year's runner-up, Billy Moyer Jr. has also filed his entry. 2014 UMP National Champion, Bobby Pierce finished third in his debut at the facility a year ago and has filed his entry as well.

Some of the other notable entries received thus far include Don O'Neal (Indiana), Steve Francis (Kentucky), Jonathan Davenport (North Carolina), Dennis Erb Jr. (Illinois), Mike Marlar (Tennessee), Chris Brown (Texas), Billy Moyer (Arkansas), Shane Clanton (Georgia), Chase Junghans (Kansas), Chris Wall (Louisiana), Wendell Wallace (Arkansas), Morgan Bagley (Texas), David Breazeale (Mississippi), Kyle Beard (Arkansas), Tony Jackson Jr. (Missouri), and a host of other competitors as entries continue to arrive by the day.

Super Late Model Competitors have until Saturday, October 4th to file their early entry for the event. The early entry fee is $100. After this date, the entry fee will be $150. The Mini Stock division will be in action SATURDAY NIGHT ONLY as they compete for $400-to-win/$50-to-start, Based on 20 Plus Cars.

Open practice begins Thursday night, October 9th at 7:00 PM for all divisions.

Friday night will see preliminary action for the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 as Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field. NeSmith Late Models will also qualify and run heat races. MSSS Street Stocks will also run their heats.
B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with Mini Stocks Heat Races and the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Championships Main Event Races.

Also, on Saturday a Fish Fry lunch will be held, and volunteers will be accepting donations for the fund to raise money to provide monetary assistance for racers, crew, or racing community in the event of an injury, etc. There will also be a Silent Auction for autographed doors from race cars, to raise money for the fund. Doors will be on display prior to auction time. Doors from top drivers in the country and plus locals. The lunch will be served at noon on Saturday with the Silent Auction 4pm.
