The Country Pleasin' Sausage Clash at the Mag Set for June 16-18 with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Columbus, Mississippi (June 15, 2016) Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi is eagerly preparing for The Country Pleasin’ Sausage Clash at the MAG, which will be held this weekend, June 16th-18th
The event will feature the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors attempting to tame the "Black Ice" in pursuit of a $20,000-to-win top prize and a total purse in excess of $85,000 plus, as the MAV TV cameras tape all of the action for a future airing.
Defending series champion and event winner, Jonathan Davenport leads the LOLMDS troops into battle this weekend with two-time champ, Scott Bloomquist nipping at his heels. Dennis Erb Jr., who is fresh off his $100,000 victory last weekend in the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora. Three-time LOLMDS champion, Jimmy Owens will look to again conquer the Mag. Other series drivers expected include Jared Landers, Darrell Lanigan, Don O’Neal, Tim McCreadie, Brandon Sheppard, Earl Pearson Jr., Steve Francis, and leading rookie, Colton Flinner.
A strong cast of non-touring drivers will look to upset the LOLMDS regulars. Expected entries include Chris Brown, Brian Rickman, Chad Thrash, Rick Rickman, Bub McCool, Gavin Landers, Dylan Ames, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, David Breazeale, Shay Knight, Neil Baggett, Eric Cooley, Wendell Wallace, and many more.
Entries from more than a dozen states are expected.
Big programs for the Mississippi Street Stock Series (MSSS), NeSmith Weekly Crate Late Models, 602 Late Model Stocks (Friday night only), and Factory Stocks (Saturday night only) will also take center stage on the program.
The action opens on Thursday, June 16th with an Open Practice Session for all divisions from 7pm to 10pm. Grandstand admission is free. Pit admission Adults is $20.00 and Kids 6-10 $10.00. Three Day Pit Passes ONLY are $85.00 for Adults and $55.00 for Kids 6-10 years of age.
On Friday, June 17th the event kicks into high gear as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will host time trials and heat race action. In addition, The MSSS Street Stocks will battle in heats races, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $800 to win/$50 to start race event with it being a weekly point’s race. 602 Late Model Stocks will race for $400 to Win/$50 to start ONLY FRIDAY Night. Drivers Meeting is at 7pm sharp with action starting at 8pm on Friday.
Saturday night, June 18th will see the LOLMDS Super Late Models contesting b-main action as well as the 100 lap, main event, which will be taped by the MAV TV cameras for a future broadcast. MSSS Street Stocks in a $1,500 to win/$150 to start event, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $1,000 to win/$75to start with it being a weekly racing series point’s race and Factory Stocks will battle for $300 to win/$50 to start ONLY SATURDAY night, with it being a weekly racing series points race. Drivers Meeting is at 6:30pm sharp with Action starting at 7:30pm on Saturday.
On Friday night Grandstand Admission is $25.00 for Adults with Kids 6-10 $5.00, and Kids 5 & under free, TWO DAY Grandstand Pass is $50.00. Saturday Night Grandstand Admission is $30.00 for Adults, with Kids 6-10 $5.00, and Kids 5 & under free. Friday Night Pit Admission is $35.00 for Adults with Kids 6-10 years of age $25.00, and kids 5 & under free. Saturday Night Pit Admission is $40.00 for Adults with Kids 6-10 years of age $30.00, and Kids 5 & under free.
Four Wheelers/ATVs/Golf Carts/Side-by-Sides/etc must pay a fee of $25.00 for the weekend.
