Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Invasion at Magnolia this Weekend

Columbus, Mississippi (06/09/15) Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi is set for The Columbus Convention and Visitor's Bureau Clash at the MAG, which will be held this weekend, June 11th-13th, 2015.

Competitors from across the country, along with the stars and cars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), will attempt to tame the "Black Ice" in pursuit of a $20,000-to-win top prize and a total purse in excess of $85,000 plus, as the MAV TV cameras tape all of the action for a future airing.

Entering the weekend’s event Jonathan Davenport, who is fresh off the $100,000 win in the 21st Annual Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway, leads the LOLMDS standings. Four-time series champion, Earl Pearson Jr. is second in the points with Jimmy Owens, Don O’Neal, Scott Bloomquist, Devin Moran, Steve Francis, Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb Jr., Eddie Carrier Jr., Jared Landers, and Chris Brown rounding out the current standings.

As always the touring drivers will have their hands full with a talented cast of national, regional, and local competitors. Expected entrants include Bub McCool, Garrett Alberson, Brian Rickman, Neil Baggett, Randy Weaver, Chase Washington, Eric Cooley, Dane Dacus, Leon Henderson, Chris Simpson, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Jason Cliburn, Jamie Tollison, Brett White, David Breazeale, and many more.

The action opens on Thursday, June 11th with an Open Practice Session for all divisions from 7pm to 10pm. Grandstand admission is free and pit admission is $20.  Three day pit passes are ONLY are $85 for adults and $55 for kids (6-10 years of age).

On Friday, June 12th the event kicks into high gear as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will host time trials and heat race action. In addition, The MSSS Street Stocks will battle in heats races, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle in an $800-to-win/$50-to-start race event with it being a weekly point’s race. Drivers Meeting is at 7pm SHARP with racing action starting at 8pm on Friday.

Saturday night, June 13th will see the LOLMDS Super Late Models contesting b-main action as well as the 100 lap, main event, which will be taped by the MAV TV cameras for a future broadcast. MSSS Street Stocks will compete in a $1,500-to-win/$150-to-start event, while the NeSmith Dirt Late Models will battle for $1,000-to-win/$75-to-start with it being a weekly racing series point’s race, and Factory Stocks will battle for $300-to-win/$50-to-start with it being a weekly racing series point race. Drivers Meeting is at 6:30pm SHARP with racing action starting at 7:30pm on Saturday.

On Friday night grandstand admission is $25 for adults with Kids (6-10 years-of-age) $5, and Kids 5 & under free. A two day grandstand pass is ONLY $50. Saturday night grandstand admission is $30 for adults, with Kids (ages 6-10) $5, and kids 5 & under free. 

Friday night pit admission is $35 for adults with Kids (6-10 years of age) $25, and kids 5 & under free. Saturday night pit admission is $40 for adults with kids (6-10 years of age) $30, and kids 5 & under free.
