Wheatland, Missouri - August 26th, 2013 - On a warm summer night in the Ozarks, the racing action at Lucas Oil was fast and furious as Mike Montague, John Allen, David Hendrix, and Kris Jackson all picked up feature wins this past Saturday. "Every Saturday night, the racers here at Lucas Oil Speedway continue to impress with great runs and clean side by side racing. Congrats to all the winners. We hope to see you all next weekend for the Drag Boats and MLRA Dirt Late Model Racing." commented Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson

The Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks got things rolling right at 7:30 pm as Shawn Whitman, Burl Woods, and Francisco Escamilla picked up early heat race wins. In the night's first feature event of the evening, Waynesville, Missouri's David Hendrix charged from his 7th starting spot to pick up a convincing win over Johnny Coats as the Joplin, Missouri driver started second and finished second. Burl Woods, Chip Shaddox, and Brian Schutt rounded out the top-5 respectively. O'Dell Trucking boosted the purse for the Top-20 finishers in the main event with an extra $25 for each driver finishing in positions 1-20.

The Tri-Lakes RV B-Mods may have been the best main event of the evening as season long point leader Kris Jackson overcame two early heat race spins to pick up the main event win after starting deep in the field in 11th. Jackson methodically worked the bottom groove while the leaders, Michael Stake and Gary Clark pounded the cushion until the top faded away near the end. Clark followed Jackson across the AAA Start/Finish line in 2nd at the finish while Wheatland's Mike Streigel slipped by Stake at the finish to take third. Stake ended up fourth while Fort Scott, Kansas' Randy Zimmerman took the fifth spot in the final running order. Streigel, Stake, Clark, and Jim Cihy captured heat race wins earlier in the evening.

In a bit of a surprise finish to most everyone except himself, Lebanon, Missouri's Mike Montague cruised to his first ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Model win after overtaking J.D. Hubert early in the main event. Jason Russell was able to slip by Hubert as well to finish second while Hubert crossed the line in the third spot. Ethan Young rebounded from a heat race skirmish with the retaining wall to drive from his 10th starting spot to finish fourth at the end while youngster Payton Looney settled for fifth. Heat race winners included Montague, Russell, and Jeremy Kelley.

The featured class of the night was the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds and what a show it was as John Allen and Steve Muilenburg put on a driving clinic running side by side for lap after lap before Allen finally secured the top spot and took the win. Muilenburg scored his second consecutive top-2 finish as he followed Allen across the line at the finish. Hermitage, Missouri's Jason Pursley had a great run on the slick and smooth Lucas Oil Speedway racing surface to take third ahead of Jon Sheets and Dalton Kirk. Nathan Vaughn, Terry Kirk, and Scotty Bough captured heat race wins.

Next up for the Lucas Oil Speedway is one of the largest racing events of the season as the 3rd Annual Diamond Drag Boat Nationals featuring the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series hits the waters of Lake Lucas on Friday-Sunday, August 30th-September 1st. The Lucas Oil MLRA Dirt Late Model Series will also be making their last stop of the season on Saturday, August 31st with the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds racing for a special $850 to win 30 lap main event!
