Wheatland, MO (August 28th, 2013) - With just three races left to decide the 2013 Lucas Oil MLRA Championship, there is no room for error at the top of the standings. It looks like this year's champion will have to sweat it out right down to the wire. This weekend will provide plenty of thrills and excitement for fans as the Series heads to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO for the MLRA Fall Shootout Saturday night. This race will be ran in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series event on Lake Lucas Friday through Sunday.

Tony Jackson Jr. leads the standings in his Club 29 Rocket. He holds a 51 point advantage over Will Vaught, as the two have sat at the top of the standings nearly all season. Vaught started the year strong, then had a rash of bad luck, but bounced back with a win on the last swing at Junction Motor Speedway. Jackson did the opposite, and came on strong during the Memorial Day Weekend Show Me 100 and hasn't let up since. He won the final night at McCool Junction and is the most recent series winner.

There will be some other things for fans to keep an eye on as well. Brad Looney, who won the inaugural MLRA Fall Shootout at Lucas Oil Speedway on Labor Day Weekend two years ago, will be debuting a new race car. For the past two and a half seasons, he primarily ran a Moyer Victory Circle Chassis, but has switched to a Capital Race Car.

The Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year battle is close as well. Just 50 markers separate Travis Dickes and Chase Junghans. The two are also dueling for seventh and eighth in the championship standings. Terry Phillips, Jesse Stovall and John Anderson are sitting third through fifth in the standings and are expected to be in attendance.
