MAVTV American Real Network

WAYCROSS, GA (September 30, 2013) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is excited to announce that another series event has been added to the TV package for 2013. The Lucas Oil Rome Showdown at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA on Sunday night October 6th will be taped for broadcast on the MAVTV Network. This event is part of a two-day weekend at the Swims family owned tracks in northern Georgia. The series will start the weekend off at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA on Saturday night October 5th for the Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout. Both events include 50-lap $10,000 to win feature events and both will be filmed by the award winning Lucas Oil Production Studios.

The Lucas Oil Rome Showdown is being held at Rome Speedway, which produces some of the most exciting racing action anywhere in the country and is considered the "World's Fastest ½ Mile Clay Track". This event is sure to be a great TV Show on the MAVTV American Real Network. The MAVTV American Real Network, owned by Lucas Oil Products Inc., will air this year's Lucas Oil Rome Showdown at a date and time to be announced. MAVTV American Real Network is located on Channel 248 on DISH and channel 214 on DIRECTV. Check your local listings for channel numbers for MAVTV American Real on your local cable provider.

"We are certainly thrilled to add the Rome Showdown event to our TV package for 2013. The Swims family has been instrumental in the growth of this sport and the Lucas Oil Series. Having both events in Georgia taped for TV makes that weekend even bigger. The added TV exposure benefits everyone involved with the series including the drivers, promoters, fans and all our great sponsors. Thanks again to Lucas Oil, Lucas Oil Production Studios, our Team Lucas Partners and all the series sponsors who have once again made it possible to bring the nation's premier dirt late model series to TV," stated Ritchie Lewis, Director, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

In 2012 at Rome Speedway, John Blankenship of Williamson, WV charged from his 7th starting position to win the feature event and collect the $10,000 first place prize. Fans were on their feet as Blankenship passed both Chris Madden and Scott Bloomquist on the same lap for second place and then, as he ran down race leader Jimmy Owens to take the lead on lap 21. "Last year's race at Rome Speedway was pretty intense. We had a great car and was able to get the win there. That place is racy and fast and having it on TV this year makes it that much better for everyone", stated Blankenship.
