WHEATLAND, MO (October 11th, 2015) - Jesse Stovall continued his domination of Lucas Oil MLRA victory lane as he swept both MLRA events in weekend action at Lucas Oil Speedway. Jonesboro, Arkansas' Jeremy Russell topped a stellar field of more than 75 Factory Stocks to score a thrilling win in the Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt. Logan Martin and Shawn Strong took home top honors in the USRA B-Mods as Martin scored the win in Friday's main event while Strong topped the field on Saturday night.

Third starting Jesse Stovall made his way to the front just prior to the halfway point of Saturday's MLRA Fall Nationals finale at Lucas Oil Speedway. Once at the front he set his own pace, weaving in and out of lapped traffic, en route to his series leading 10th win of the season and first ever weekend sweep at the Diamond of the Dirt Tracks.

"This is the best (season) by far," commented Stovall of his overall 2015 campaign. "Even though we didn't get a championship, winning all these races, having all the success we've had, I have a race team now. "Tommy Boy" (Crew Chief Tony Rogers) came in about May and we started winning races. It was huge to me to have somebody to help. He's done a very good job."

Outside pole sitter Brad Looney quickly took command of the race from the drop of the green. Looney set a blistering pace early. DirtonDirt.com polesitter Chad Simpson slipped back a bit, but charged forward and raced alongside Terry Phillips for much of the feature.

Simpson crossed the finish line second and Phillips was third. Only needing a 10th place or better finish in the main event to secure the championship, regardless of others performance, Phillips was crowned the series champion for the third time in his storied career. His first Lucas Oil MLRA title came in 1994 and second in 1996.

Fourth and fifth respectively were Brad Looney and Jason Utter.

Al Humphrey Racing's RC Whitwell claimed the Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year honors. Whitwell also gained 11 positions in the feature to secure the night's Casey's General Stores Hard Charger award.

Sunday evening the series celebrates the year at the annual Championship Banquet, held at the Old Kinderhook Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks. The top drivers, marketing partners and race tracks will be highlighted.

With a posted first place prize of $4,000 for the Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt featuring the Carson's Corner Napa Auto Parts Factory Stocks, a record car count of 75 of nation's best Factory Stocks took to the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. In one of the most entertaining 50 lappers in history, Jeremy Russell worked his way from his sixth starting spot to hold off repeated challengers to score the emotional win.

Kyle Slader started third and hung in the top-3 throughout the Factory Stock main event as he settled for runner up honors hot on Russell's heels. Stoutland's Tim Brown charged from 18th to third at the finish after changing engines on Friday night and giving up his pole starting spot after setting Fast Time on Friday. Former Track Champion David Hendrix worked his way into the lead late in the race despite going tailback from an early race spin but the handling on his machine went away in the closing laps he was scored in fourth at the finish. Jared Hays rounded out the top-5.

A good heat race early in the evening put Jesse Stovall in a prime position to win Friday night in the Lucas Oil MLRA Fall Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Stovall rolled off from the inside of the second row for the Lucas Cattle Company 30 laps feature. He raced hard with Josh Hughes making his way around him for the lead and eventual win.

"This track is definitely a different track to race on," said Stovall. "You just have to have things completely right no matter who's here. We got a chance to test last night, and I really feel like that made us better for tonight. I just kind of started rolling the outside. I found a strip of brown over in three and four, and just got around him (Josh Hughes) there, and tried to just start driving smart and smooth."

The win is Stovall's ninth of the season with the series and 18th overall. Coming into the evening he trailed Terry Philips in the point standings by 44 markers.

Phillips finished the evening fifth, but had a little tougher road to the feature. He won his B-Feature placing him on the inside of the ninth row for the main event. With the benefit of only two yellows, he made his way forward. The difference in points is now 30, with only Saturday's race left.

Jake O'Neil continued his late season surge, with a strong runner up finish. RC Whitwell was right behind him in third. The two are also contending for the Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year title. Whitwell holds a 37 point margin there.

Jason Utter had another solid evening like so many times this year. He was right in the thick of the action, finishing fourth.
