Big Labor Day Weekend on Tap for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

CORONA, CA (August 30, 2010) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is preparing for a huge Labor Day Weekend of racing with events at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH and West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV.  A total of $62,000 in first place prize money is up for grabs over the holiday weekend.
 
Events will begin on Friday Night, September 3rd at the Donna Rayburn-promoted Portsmouth Raceway Park. The facility celebrates its 20th Anniversary with its biggest race ever. Friday Night will feature Red Buck Cigar Time Trials and Heat Races.  Saturday Night, on track activities will include B-Mains and the Pepsi 75 River Days Rumble main event, paying $20,000 to win.  For more information, log onto the track's website at

The series then heads to the Mountaineer State of West Virginia for the 42nd Annual Hillbilly Hundred at West Virginia Motor Speedway.  The Hillbilly Hundred is the oldest major Late Model event in the nation, and was first held in 1967. A complete show awaits the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Sunday, September 5th.  There will be Red Buck Cigar Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 42nd Annual Hillbilly Hundred main event paying $42,000 to the winner.  Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC is the defending event winner.  For more information on this great event you can visit www.wvspeedway.com .
