David Hendrix, Logan Martin, Jeremy Kelley, and Steve Muilenburg beat the heat to score weekend wins at Lucas Oil Speedway!

Wheatland, MO- (August 25th, 2014)- With sweltering temps providing challenges to fans and drivers alike, David Hendrix, Logan Martin, Jeremy Kelley, and Steve Muilenburg beat the heat to score wins in their respective classes on KIX 105.7 and 92.3 BOB FM Public Safety Appreciation Night at the Races this past Saturday, August 23rd.

The Carson's Corner Napa Auto Parts Factory Stocks took to the smooth and slick Lucas Oil Speedway dirt track first with David Hendrix scoring his 11th win of the 2014 season after second place runner Burl Woods got caught up in lap traffic with just a handful of laps remaining. As has been the case for much of 2014 Camdenton's Kenny Carroll crossed the AAA Finish Line in the second spot as nobody seems to have the answer to stop the Hendrix freight train. Marc Carter rallied from his sixth starting spot to finish in third. Wheatland's Chip Shaddox continued his strong season to score a fourth place finish. Josh Essary made the long tow from Bella Vista, Arkansas to finish in fifth.

Next up were the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds as Logan Martin out of West Plains, Missouri fought off a furious challenge from El Dorado Springs, Missouri's Chase Jones and Steve Muilenburg to take the win as Jones took the second spot while Steve Muilenburg settled for a third place finish as the three wide battle raged. Parkville, Missouri's Kerry Davis made a return visit to Lucas Oil Speedway finishing in fourth in the final run down. Current Pitts Homes USRA Modified track points leader Jeff Cutshaw survived to finish in fifth after contact earlier in the race.

A strong field of (20) ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Models took to the increasingly slick track with Jeremy Kelley out of Walnut Grove, Missouri scoring a narrow win over Lockwood, Missouri's Payton Looney as both drivers fought for traction on the tricky 3/8th mile clay oval. Brian Schutt came across the line in the third spot after starting in sixth while J.D. Hubert moved from his ninth starting spot to fourth at the finish. Chris Cox rounded out the top-5 as he also scored the Keyser Manufacturing Hard Charger of the race after starting in the 11th position. The AR Bodies Contingency Award went to Bob Cummings out of Sedalia, Missouri.

The final event of the evening was the 25-lap, $500 to win Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mod Main Event and the race had two distinct story lines. While the leaders seemed intent on providing a wild three wide battle up front, the caution flag seemed to wave each time the battle really intensified as the track was now ultra slick and treacherous. Steve Muilenburg used his experience to outduel Shawn Strong and Logan Martin to finally score the win. Shawn scored a second place finish after starting in fifth while Martin slipped to third at the finish after starting on the pole. Mike Striegel out of Wheatland finished in the fourth spot while Nevada, Missouri's Dustin Campbell rounded out the top-5.

Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mod track points leader Kris Jackson suffered early race front end damage after contact in turn 3. Jackson continued to soldier on despite the heavy front end damage but finally the handling became too much and the car snapped around in turn two making heaving contact with the right rear of the car against the concrete retaining wall. The car suffered heavy damage as Jackson was officially scored in the 14th position in the final rundown.
