Bolivar Herald-Free Press Night presented by KDKD and the Eagle in the books!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MEDIA CONTACT: Ashley Berry

Wheatland, Missouri - May 19th, 2013 - Saturday Night at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks, Jason Russell, John Allen, Brian Schutt and Kris Jackson all sailed to Victory Lane in the Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Series. Another week with more than 100 cars checked in, included some of the best regional drivers and local favorites. Fans enjoyed special discount coupons from the Bolivar Herald-Free Press and a live radio remote from KDKD and the Eagle. Both sponsors of the racing action. In the Tri-Lakes RV B-Mod's, Kris Jackson picked up $500 for his win, courtesy of Rocky Top Marine.

First out for the night, the Carson's Corner NAPA Factory Stocks in the Bill Roberts Chevrolet Feature Event. This awesome class of cars have put on intense racing each week and continue to impress with a variety of winners ending up in victory lane. Brian Schutt from Lebanon, Missouri jumped out early and was able to hold off a charging and persistent, Kenny Carroll. Chip Shaddox from Wheatland, Missouri, challenged Carroll throughout the feature and made him earn his second place finish. Shaddox in third was followed to the checkers by, Johnny Coats from Joplin, Missouri with Jay Prevete rounding out the top five.

Next, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds lined up for a 20 lap feature presented by Ozarks Coca-Cola. John Allen of Chanute, Kansas would pick up the win, with a handful of competitors on his every move. Eventually, late in the race Terry Kirk of Urbana, Missouri worked his way to battle for the second spot and was chasing down Allen. Not able to reel him in, Kirk recorded a second place finish with Jon Sheets from Nevada, Missouri closely behind. Scotty Bough ran up front all night, but was disqualified after failing post race inspection. Chris Tonoli, from Hermitage, Missouri claimed the fourth place position, his best of the season thus far. Terry Schultz had to run a B-Feature to make the main event and cruised his way in for a top five finish. The USRA Modifieds will be back in action this Thursday Night, May 23rd, to help kick off the 21st Annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com. The Lucas Oil MLRA is up for $5,000 to win on Thursday night as the 3-Day Marquee event gets ready to rock Lucas Oil Speedway. The finale featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil MLRA, will be the 100-Lap A-Main event on Saturday night. The USRA Modifieds will compete for $500 to win on Thursday. Friday night the mods will run heats before the $1,000 to Win Feature presented by RacinDirt.com on Saturday Night.

In the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models, G2 Gemini A-Main event, Jason Russell from Henley, Missouri ended up in victory lane, again. Russell races both the Pitts Homes USRA Modified class as well as the ULMA Late Models. Pulling double duty each week, usually fairs well for him. Russell consistently places in the top five in both classes. This week he settled for 7th overall in the A-Mod's, yet managed another visit to victory lane in the Late Model class. Jason Bodenhamer did not let Russell run away with the win. Bodenhamer worked tirelessly to keep up with Russell and even pulled up to race side by side with the smooth #2. Bodenhamer finished second with Republic, Missouri's Payton Looney in third, but following post-race inspection was disqualified. Daniel Jessen of Joplin moved into third and Jeremy Kelly notched a fourth place finish after having to restart tail-back from being involved in an early race caution. Todd McCoin of Barnett, Missouri rounded out the top five.

$500 to win in the Tri-Lakes RV B-Mod's from Rocky Top Marine, brought out a large field of cars. Cot Cheevers of Macks Creek, Missouri started on the pole of the Poly Lifts Boat Lifts A Feature. Cheevers would eventually lose the spot to Kris Jackson and later in the race, pull off the track. Shawn Strong of Billings, Missouri finished behind Jackson in second, with Jeff Miller of Hermitage, Missouri in third. A late race caution gave Strong the opportunity to challenge Jackson for the lead, but Jackson held on to the spot for the $500. Colt Purente from Verona, Missouri finished fourth with Ryan Edde of Urbana, Missouri in fifth.

In a few short days, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil MLRA will roar into Wheatland, Missouri for the $30,000 to Win, 100 Lap race of the year!
