Strong Start to 2014 Season for Longhorn Chassis
Davenport wins Feature, Pearson Jr. Leads Championship Point Standings

TRINITY, NC (February 11, 2014) - Longhorn Chassis had a great start to the season with Billy Moyer Sr. and Billy Moyer Jr. each winning a race in January on the NDRL series tour. Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing crew headed to Florida this past week to start the 2014 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Pearson Jr., along with Moyer Jr. and Jonathan Davenport were all on hand at Golden Isles Speedway.

The LOLMDS had to postpone Thursday night's races to Friday, February 7. The cars took the track early with Jonathan Davenport and Billy Moyer Jr. setting fast time. Davenport and Pearson Jr. finished first and second respectively in Heat 1 with Moyer Jr. winning Heat 4. Davenport set a new track record in time trials, led all 25 laps of the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing feature and went on to win. Pearson Jr. finished third and Moyer Jr. finished fourth, putting the drivers with Longhorn Chassis in three of the top four finishing spots.

"I can't thank Kevin and LeRoy Rumley and Longhorn Chassis enough; this deal came together at the end of the year. This says a lot about this team and car," said Davenport of his win.

"We were really good off the bottom today. It feels good to run this well close to home with my family and friends here," stated Pearson Jr. "I'm extremely happy with my finish, but Moyer Jr. drove a heck of a race, too. I didn't think I was going to get by him."

Friday night action with the LOLMDS started much the same with the Longhorn Chassis dominating early on. Jonathan Davenport again set fast time in Group B. Pearson Jr. and Moyer Jr. won Heat #3 and Heat #4 respectively giving the drivers great starting positions in the feature. Pearson Jr. ran strong in the feature, taking the checkered flag with another podium finish of third place.

"It's been a fantastic day for Longhorn Chassis. We got a win with Davenport and running third again tonight is a great confidence boost for tomorrow night's race," said Pearson Jr. "I have to thank Bobby Labonte, Lucas Oil, Sunoco, and MAV-TV for making this possible. Hopefully this will jump-start us to a terrific season and maybe our fifth title."

The final night at Golden Isles Speedway in Waynesville, GA proved to be another exciting race for the fans and Longhorn Chassis. Pearson Jr. set Fast Time in Group A and Moyer Jr. won Heat #4 to start the night. Pearson Jr. drove his #44 Lucas Oil Longhorn Chassis to another podium finish of third on Saturday night.

"The Longhorn Chassis did well here this weekend, we are excited and looking forward to racing at East Bay next week," stated Pearson Jr.

Be sure to catch the Longhorn Chassis in action at East Bay Raceway Park February 10 to February 15. Moyer Jr. and Moyer Sr. have already started the week strong for Longhorn Chassis with Moyer Jr. setting Fast Time and Moyer Sr. winning his respective heat. Both guys went on to put their Longhorn Chassis in the top-7; Moyer Jr. finished 5th with Moyer Sr. in 7th.   Pearson Jr. and Bobby Labonte Racing will take a few days off and will return to action on Wednesday, February 12. About Longhorn Chassis

Longhorn Chassis was founded in 2010 by NASCAR Champion Bobby Labonte, along with his brother and two-time NASCAR Champion, Terry Labonte. After numerous successful seasons as a Dirt Late Model team owner with driver Earl Pearson Jr., Labonte decided to take it one step further with his racing operations and the team started building their own race cars, in shop. The first two late model chassis built out of Longhorn Chassis went to Justin Labonte and the house car, driven by Earl Pearson Jr. Pearson would debut his Longhorn Chassis at the North/South 100 in Florence, Ky., where he finished a solid second, he'd later record Longhorn Chassis' first Victory at the 2010 Dirt Track World Championships at West Virginia Motor Speedway. With just a couple of racing season under their belts, and numerous wins, Longhorn Chassis has already proven its strength and ability on the track.
