RACE WEEK UPDATES (posted 8/13):

As of Tuesday afternoon, an amazing weather forecast is showing race time temps this Saturday of 85 degrees with partly cloudy conditions, dropping into the 70's throughout the event.

Make sure you bring all the kids in your neighborhood for $10 Carload night - as it's also the back to school bash featuring free school supplies for kids-ticket holders, as well as bicycle drawings!

LoneStar $10 Carload Night & Back to School Bash 8/17!


Kilgore TX (8/5/13) by DarinShort.com. Coming off of a fantastic night of racing July 27th, LoneStar Speedway officials are pleased to announce that the next scheduled event, Saturday August 17th, will feature a “$10/Carload Night” for general grandstand admission.

All three LSS points divisions will be in action, which include $1,000 to win Modifieds, $500 to win for the Limited Modifieds and $300 to win for the Factory Stocks. Beginner Factory Stocks are scheduled as well.

LoneStar Speedway is pleased to announce due to the tremendous support at the last event, the $50 Modified division entry fee will be waived on August 17th! The Modifieds will still be racing for $1,000 to win and $100 to start. Thank you again to the great support of the area race teams and fans, it is much appreciated.

And that’s not all. It’s back to school time, so ALL kids will receive FREE school supplies in our Back to School Bash! Kids must be accompanied by an adult, and simply bring your kids admission ticket stub to the display table to receive your school supplies. Quantities are limited, so arrive early for the best selection!

There will also be kid’s bike giveaways during intermission…so kick off back to school season in style, with fresh school supplies and a chance to ride a new bike to school!

This event will also make for a great ‘practice night’ to the upcoming $10,000 to win Armadillo Nationals. Click www.darinshort.com/arm.html for event flyer and complete details. The DAY Motorsports Modified division will race 50 laps for $10,000 to win, while the Limited Modified feature winner will take home $3,000 and the Factory Stock champion will receive $2,000. The event will take place at LoneStar on September 26th – 28th.

Here are the details of the August 17th “$10 Carload Night” in case you are not familiar with the process:

When you drive your vehicle into the spectator parking lot, an attendant will collect $10 from each car. Every person in your car will get into the general admission area of the grandstands at no added charge.

There are no other hidden costs or fees to watch the racing program. Note that at all LSS events, there is no outside food/drink coolers allowed inside the main grandstand entrance.

Here are some quick facts for the August 17th event:

- Pits open at 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, Draw cut-off at 7:15pm sharp, Hot laps at 7:30pm, and Racing at 8pm

-General Grandstand Admission just $10 per carload – regardless of how many people are in your vehicle

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section for $5 per person

-All Pit Passes $30

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside, a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available
