LoneStar BUNNY HOP 25 features first ever SCLMS event, Saturday April 4th!

Kilgore TX (3/18/15) by DarinShort.com. The next event on tap at LoneStar Speedway (LSS) will be a jammed night of racing, featuring the first-ever event for the Southern Crate Late Model Series (SCLMS) in the Bunny Hop 25, along with a complete program of heats and features in the Modifieds, Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks. All of this takes place atop the high banked 1/3 mile on Saturday, April 4th...which also happens to coincide with a full moon that will rise shortly after the scheduled 7pm hot laps.

The SCLMS traveling teams will be competing in heat races that will set the line up for their 'Bunny Hop 25' lap feature event, held later in the evening.

The SCLMS will sanction 15 races in 2015 throughout the region that will be co-sanctioned by the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series and will be run under the NeSmith Late Model rules. Drivers in the Southern Crate Series will not only compete for points and a point fund in that series, but they will also compete for NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National points. Due to the March 14th rainout, this will also be the LSS season points opener for the Modifieds ($1,000/win and $100/start), Limited Modifieds ($500/win) and Factory Stocks ($300/win). As in 2014, non-qualifier money will be awarded to any team not making their feature race: Modifieds $50, Limited Modifieds $30 and Factory Stocks $20. Beginner Factory Stocks will cap off the night with their feature event. 2015 rules in all divisions are posted at the track website, drivers please make sure to review them prior to your arrival at the track on race night.

As in the past several years, LSS offers a fantastic awards program to drivers that compete in at least 75% of the completed LSS points events - with a minimum of $10,000 cash being distributed to top performing drivers in each of the LSS points divisions. Over $13,000 was paid out in 2013 and again in 2014, with all nightly 50/50 drawing funds and driver registration fees adding to the points fund. There are now only 11 weekends of racing on the 2015 LSS schedule, which makes plenty of time for drivers to visit other tracks, go on family vacations; etc., yet still compete for a sizable points fund championship.

Parents, make sure to gather up all the kids! LSS has several fun activities planned, including a giant Easter Egg Hunt (takes place just after hot laps, which are set for 7pm), Kids Bike Giveaways; and fans of all ages can meet the Easter Bunny, who will be circulating through the grandstand area for pictures and fan interaction.

An event flyer is posted at the track website and Facebook page. Division payback is posted at the track website.
