FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
WAYCROSS, GA (July 5, 2016) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will tackle three different race tracks in three different states in the week ahead. With over $130,000 in prize money up for grabs, the weekend is sure to provide door-to-door racing action, lap after lap, as the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battle a strong contingent of local and regional standouts.

The action kicks off on Thursday, July 7th at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, N.C. The Dunn Benson Ford Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Jonathan Davenport will return as the defending winner of the Dunn Benson Ford Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial. The night will also feature: Fayetteville Motor Speedway Late Models, Modifieds, Pure Stocks, and U-Car divisions. For more information, visit: www.fayettevillemotorspeedway.com.

Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C. will host the 18th Annual Grassy Smith Memorial on Friday, July 8th. The late Clarence "Grassy" Smith is known throughout the stock car racing industry for his contributions to motorsports and his keen engine building skills. Jonathan Davenport wrestled the lead away from Chris Ferguson (with five laps remaining) to score the win, in 2015. The event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The SECA Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Crate Sportsman, and Stock 4 will serve as support division at Cherokee Speedway. Further information is available at: www.cherokeespeedwaysc.com.

Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN will cap off the blockbuster weekend on Saturday, July 9th with the 3rd Annual Mountain Moonshine Classic. In 2015, Randy Weaver ended Jonathan Davenport's 5-race win streak when he claimed the Mountain Moonshine Classic over Scott Bloomquist, Davenport, Jimmy Owens, and Casey Roberts. The action-packed event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. The Sportsman division will compete for $1,200-to-win, while the Street Stocks will chase an $800 top prize. For more information, visit: www.smokymountainspeedway.com.
