WAYCROSS, GA (June 9, 2016) - A band of the nation's elite dirt late model teams will converge on Magnolia Motor Speedway, in Columbus, MS for the annual Country Pleasin' "Clash at the Mag." This blockbuster event, held June 16-18th, will see the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, along with a talented group of local and regional standouts, attempt to tame the "black ice" in pursuit of a $20,000 top prize.
The activities will get underway on Thursday, June 16th, with an open practice for all divisions. The action on Friday, June 17th includes Miller Welders Time Trial and Heat Races for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In addition, the Street Stocks and Crate Late Models will also be in competition on Friday night. On Saturday, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take center stage, featuring B-Mains and the 100-lap, "Clash at the Mag" main event. The Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, and Factory stocks will cap off the weekend action.
Jonathan Davenport dominated the 2015 edition of the "Clash at the Mag," taking the lead on lap-17 and going on to earn the $20,000 payday. Jared Landers charged from his 8th starting spot to finish second. He was followed by Jimmy Owens, Don O'Neal, and Brandon Sheppard.
The award-winning, Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to tape all the action for broadcast on NBC Sports and MAVTV Motorsports Network, at a later date.
