TWO GREAT NIGHTS OF RACING AT LEGIT LAST WEEKEND

There were two great nights of racing at Legit Speedway last weekend as the MARS series Late Model drivers rolled into town along with all other classes.  On Friday night in the MARS Series Late Model race, it was Justin Wells of Aurora Missouri taking home the $2,000 winner’s check. Justin led all but 2 laps of the 30 lap feature. Logan Martin of West Plains, racing in his 2nd race ever in the MARS Late Model finished in 2nd and Payton Looney finished in 3rd. Will Vaught finished in 4th and Terry Phillips finished in 5th place.

On Saturday night in the Late Model event, it was Logan Martin, in his 3rd Late Model start, bringing home the $3,000 paycheck in the 40 lap feature.  Martin, who started in 5th raced his way to the front, passing Stacy Taylor on lap 35. Hughes finished in 2nd place and Stacy Taylor of Jacksonville Arkansas finished in 3rd.  Tim Manville and Will Vaught rounded out the top 5 in the feature event on Saturday.

The remainder of the racing action on Friday and Saturday night was De Ja Vu as winners repeated both nights in all 5 events.  Jeff Taylor of Cave City Arkansas won the IMCA Modified event both nights.  On Friday night it was Daryl Hay of Doniphan finishing 2nd and Rex Merritt of Billings finishing in 3rd.  On Saturday it was Matt Barry of West Plains finishing 2nd and Rex Merritt finishing 3rd once again.

The Super Stock events were won both nights by Chris Piper. On Friday night Piper claimed the prize after Bobby Ratterree of Mountain Grove was disqualified in the post-race inspection. On that night, Jesse Shearin and Jeff North of West Plains finished 2nd and 3rd.  On Saturday night it was Isaac Keepper and Jeff North finishing in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The USRA B-Mod event was won both nights by Kris Jackson of Lebanon MO.  On Friday night “The Brighton Bullet” Derek Watson took 2nd and Wade Moyer of Inez Texas came in 3rd. On Saturday night it was JC Morton of Springfield finishing in 2nd and Watson finishing 3rd.

In the Hobby Stock races Kevin Collins of West Plains won both nights.
On Friday night Chuck Russell finished 2nd and Bub Duncan finished in 3rd. On Saturday night it was Chuck Russell taking 2nd and Darren Fox finishing in 3rd.

In the Bone Stock class it was Ethan Rushin winning on Friday and Saturday. Davey Chaney finished in 2nd both nights and Ray Chaney finished in 3rd both nights

There is one night of racing left this season on Saturday. It is Trucker Appreciation Night at Legit Speedway. Gates will open at 4:30 for Truck Show. Hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7.
