PRESS RELEASE

LARGE CROWD ON HAND AS THE MARS LATE MODEL SERIES ROLLS INTO LEGIT SPEEDWAY.

It was a big night at Legit Speedway as the MARS Late Model Series rolled into town. 31 cars and drivers from all over the Midwest came in to compete for the $3,000 1st place prize. Some of the legends in the sport and top drivers in the country were on hand on a nearly perfect race track and fans were not disappointed.

Justin Wells of Aurora got out front early and led the race for 32 laps. But on lap 33 Tim Manville of Highlandville IL after exchanging a couple major slide jobs with Wells overtook the lead. Manville was able to hold off all challengers and take the checkered flag on lap 40 and take home the $3,000 prize.  It was Manville’s first ever MARS victory.

Wells finished in 2nd place with Jesse Stovall finishing 3rd, Terry Phillips 4th and Tony Jackson Jr. 5th.

Fans saw a full night of racing with all 6 classes in action. In the ServiceMaster IMCA Modified, it was Robby Arnold of Marmaduke Arkansas coming away with the win. Arnold, who usually races in both Super Stock and ServiceMaster IMCA Modified, had just finished 3rd in Super Stock and jumped in his modified for a 2nd back-to-back 20 lap feature. Daryl Hay of Doniphan finished in 2nd and Tyson Franks of Floral Arkansas finished in 3rd.

In the Patriot Race Engines Super Stock event fans were thrilled with a great race as Chris Piper, Landon Clinton and Robby Arnold battled it out for the win. At the checkered, it was Landon Clinton of Willow Springs MO claiming the prize. Clinton started in 3rd but quickly jumped into the 2nd spot on the opening lap and was able to overtake Chris Piper on lap 13. Piper finished in 2nd and Robby Arnold finished in 3rd.

In the Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mod race controversy has delayed the announcement of a winner pending lab analysis of tire samples from the winning car. Logan Martin of West Plains finished in 1st but in the tech barn his tires tested above the 700 parts per million threshold for tire contaminants. He protested the results and samples have been sent to the lab for testing, so a winner hasn’t yet been declared in that race. Rustin Miller of Houston MO crossed the line in 2nd and Gene Sisco of Alton MO crossed 3rd. Bobby Ratterree of Mountain Grove MO crossed 4th. Results are pending the lab analysis.

The Global Steel Buildings Hobby Stock division race saw Kendall Prince of Corning Arkansas back on Victory Lane for the 6th time this season. Prince, who has dominated this division all season long, was thrilled to get yet another win. Kevin Collins of West Plains MO finished in 2nd and Chuck Russell of West Plains MO finished in 3rd.

In the Bone Stock division it was Ethan Rushin of Poplar Bluff MO coming away with another win. Junior Wiles of Ash Flat Arkansas finished in 2nd, and Ray Chaney of Birch Tree MO finished in 3rd.  2nd place points runner Davey Chaney of Birch Tree MO took home $1,213 of the Rollover fund after rolling his car in the feature. Chaney was uninjured.
