Firecracker Twin 40’s this weekend at Legit Speedway

This is another BIG weekend of racing at Legit Speedway as they celebrate Independence weekend with three nights of action. On Thursday will be open practice night. Drivers will be able to run hot laps for a couple of hours and get their cars at peak performance for the Friday and Saturday night racing action.

Then on Friday night, fans will enjoy a full night of racing as there will be heat races and features in Bone and Hobby Stock divisions. That will be followed by the Heat races and 20-lap feature in USRA B Mod and Super Stock divisions. The feature races in USRA B Mod and Super Stock will be to determine starting positions on the inside row of Saturday night’s 40 lap main event. That’s a great night of some of the best wheel-to-wheel qualifying action you’ll ever see. These drivers are really getting their cars dialed in and have been fiercely competing for the checkered flag each week.

We’ve also had a few guests drop in during the summer. Billy Moyer Jr showed up for the Farmer Appreciation Night event and stole the show on the fastest track of the season. Last week, Wendall Wallace surprised everyone with an appearance and proved once again why he’s a legend, as he took the Late Model Feature. This weekend will be no exception, as drivers from all the border states to Missouri will be coming in to challenge the local talent and compete for over $30,000 in prize money.

On Saturday night will be heat races and features in IMCA Modifieds and Late Models as well as the outside row qualifier for the 40 lap features in USRA B Mod and Super Stock. There will be a fireworks display and then the “Twin 40’s”. Two 40-lap feature races, USRA B-Mod and Super Stock. Look for some regional names in racing to challenge Murphy, Miller and Shaw in that B Mod feature. Then in the Super Stock feature regional competitors will be coming in to challenge Donnie Miller, Landon Clinton, Doug Lambert and Jessie Shearin for the $2500 to win purse.

Gates will open at 5 each evening. Hot laps at 6:30. Races at 7. Fireworks on Saturday night. It will be a fun weekend for the entire family. Tickets for Friday are $10 and Saturday $12.
