Jared Landers Claims First Lucas Oil MLRA Win; Bad Boy 98 Next

Batesville, Arkansas (04/14/15) - Jared Landers enjoyed a fantastic weekend behind the wheel of his Crop Production Services #777 Mark Martin Automotive/Sweet Bloomquist/Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model. The Batesville, Arkansas hot shoe bagged a top five to go with his first-career, Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) win.

With yet another weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) nixed by rain, the team decided to enter a doubleheader at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA).

A stout field of fifty-two entries signed in for Friday night, $2,000-to-win program. Jared finished third in his heat race after starting sixth, locking him into the 30-lap finale. Landers went on to register a fifth place finish behind race winner Ryan Gustin, Jesse Stovall, Billy Moyer and Chad Simpson.

Saturday night's finale saw the winner's check increasing to $3,000 as forty-seven competitors returned for battle. Landers drew the fifth starting spot for his heat race and charged to the victory, earning him the pole position for the 40-lap main event. Jared jumped to the race lead at the drop of the green flag and never looked back, leading all 40-laps of the feature event to his first victory of the season by a half-track over his nearest competitor.

“This race car was just amazing the whole weekend,” said Landers. “Tonight I was able to capitalize on just how good the car is.” He concluded by saying, “It feels great to get back to victory lane for the first time in a while, and I can’t thank my great sponsors and fans enough for standing behind me. Hopefully this is the first of many to come this year.”

Riley Hickman Guns Down UCRA Foes at North Georgia; Farmer City Next

Cleveland, Tennessee (04/14/15) – Riley Hickman Racing went into battle against a stellar field of competitors on Saturday night in his #R1 BIF Motorsports/Hickman Manufacturing Company/CVR Late Model at North Georgia Speedway, where he came with a $2,500 triumph with the United Crate Racing Alliance (UCRA).

Weekend action opened for Riley Hickman on Friday evening as he traveled to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) for an unsanctioned Crate Late Model event. The Mountain All Star Shootout posted a $3,000 top prize to competitors, and saw nineteen entries registering for action. Hickman posted the fastest lap overall in time trials to lock into the evening's dash. A fifth place finish in the dash would earn Riley the fifth starting spot for the 60-lap main event. He went on to register a second place finish in the final rundown behind only race winner, Cory Hedgecock. Jason Welshan, Brett Wyatt, and Forrest Trent completed the top five finishers. Full results from the event are available at www.SmokyMountainSpeedway.com .

Action shifted to North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Georgia) on Saturday evening as the newly-formed, United Crate Racing Alliance (UCRA) sanctioned a $2,500-to-win program. A talented field of fifty-four Crate Late Models registered for the event. Riley posted the second fastest lap in his group during time trials, earning him the fourth starting spot on the feature grid. Hickman quickly worked his way into the lead in the finale and went on to pick up the big win over Kasey Hall, Jake Teague, Tom Maddox, and Booger Brooks.

“That was a tough field of cars at North Georgia, so that win felt really good,” Hickman noted after claiming his third victory of the season. “We’ve flirted with victory lane with a handful of second place finishes over the past few weeks, and it was great to get over the hump into victory lane again.”
