Labor Day weekend racing program set for Saturday, Sept. 4 at Volunteer Speedway BULLS GAP, Tenn. — The last weekly racing event of the season at Volunteer Speedway is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 4, with a Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro (Crate) Late Model 35-lap, $1,000-to-win feature on tap, along with a 25-lap Hobby Stock race and a "Crash 'em Up ... Smash 'em Up" Demolition Derby paying $400-to-win. Jeff Maupin of Greeneville has already wrapped up his second Super Late Model track championship, having won his first title in 2008. Dale Ball of Johnson City holds a 16 point lead over Greeneville's Todd Brooks in the battle for the Pro Late Model championship, with Ball also having claimed the divisional title back in 2008. Jamie Whitt of Wise, Va., leads Morristown's Dustin Shaver by 44 points to decide the Hobby Stock title. Adult grandstand admission only $8, youth (ages 13-16) $5, with kids age 12-and-under admitted free in the grandstands. Pit passes and backside tier-parking $25.
