Tony Knowles Notches Back-to-Back Wins at Dixie

Tyrone, Georgia (04/22/13) – Saturday night's trip to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for a Weekly Racing Series Event pretty much mirrored his trip to the 3/8 mile oval the week prior as he swept the evening's program to claim his second straight win and his second overall win of the 2013 season!

Tony started his night by again qualifying on the pole for the feature in his #26 TKR/SAE Parts/Rocket/Malcuit Racing Engine Super Late Model, and when the green flag dropped he jumped to a lead that he would never relinquish as he cruised to his second win in as many weeks.  Jake Knowles, Ronnie Johnson, Luther Jenkins, and Donald McIntosh rounded out the top five finishers in the twenty-two car field.

"We were able to pick up where we left off last week and have a great night," commented Knowles. "This Rocket Chassis is just dialed in right now, and my team is doing a great job!"

Austin Hubbard Snares First Win of 2013 with Georgetown Triumph

Seaford, Delaware (04/22/13) - Austin Hubbard notched his first win in over a year on Friday evening with a $2,000 victory at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Delaware) in his #11 Hubbard Motorsports/Trinity Logistics/Mastersbilt by Huey/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

It was a busy weekend for Austin and Hubbard Motorsports as they initially planned to enter a tripleheader with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMS). However, as has been the theme thus far into the 2013 season his plans were modified by Mother Nature as Friday night's event at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex was postponed by rain.

As a result Austin entered a $2,000-to-win event at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Delaware) on Friday evening, and it proved to be a great outing for the team. The program served as the season opener for the facility, and Austin started his night by blasting to the heat race win to earn a front row starting spot for the main event. In the feature Hubbard drove away from the field to claim the win, which marked not only his first win of 2013, but his first win in over a year!

"It was a big shot in the arm to get back to victory lane," a relieved Hubbard noted. "It's been a long time since we got a win, and now that we've done it again hopefully it will lead to several more this year."

Saturday night found Hubbard back on the LOLMDS campaign as he traveled to the historic Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) for a $10,000-to-win event. Struggles in preliminary action forced Austin to take a provisional to start the main event, where he started 24th. His luck in the feature wouldn't be much better as he retired early from the event to a 22nd place finish.

The weekend concluded on Sunday night at the recently reconfigured, 4/10 mile oval at West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, West Virginia). With thirty-two Super Late Models in the pits, and Hubbard again quickly found himself in the hole early in the night as he battled the setup in time trials. He failed to advance through the field in his heat race, which pinned him starting deep in a b-main. In the b-main he advanced to a fourth place finish, but with only the top three cars moving on to the feature he was forced to again utilize a provisional to start the feature in the 25th position. During the course of the 50 lap, $10,000-to-win event Hubbard advanced thirteen spots to a twelfth place finish. He received Hard Charger of the race honors for his efforts.

Austin is currently thirteenth in the LOLMDS standings. Full results from the event and the latest series' standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

For the upcoming weekend, April 26th-27th, the team is tentatively planning to enter a pair of Three State Flyers events. On Friday night a $3,000-to-win program will be contested at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia) before moving to Potomac Speedway (Budd's Creek, Maryland for a $3,222-to-win race. For more information on the events please visit www.ThreeStateFlyers.com .

Austin Hubbard would like to thank their principal and associate sponsors including Trinity Logistics, Salisbury Door and Hardware, Keyser Manufacturing, Mastersbilt by Huey, Cornett Racing Engines, Integra Shocks and Springs, Sunoco Race Fuels, Schaefer Oil, Team Peterson Fluid Systems, Performance Bodies, Ernie D's Enterprises, Three Wide Clothing, ASI Wear, Jones Racing Products, WearWide.com, and MSR Mafia Marketing Services.

Eddie Carrier Jr. Blisters East Coast in Weekend Action with Pair of Wins

Salt Rock, West Virginia (04/22/13) - Up until this past weekend the 2013 campaign hadn't gone the way that Eddie Carrier Jr. wanted in his #28 Grover Motorsports/Rocket/Grover Racing Engine Super Late Model, but he changed that with two big wins in three nights of action

The action began with $4,000 triumph at 201 Speedway (Sitka, Kentucky) on Thursday night for his first victory of the year! Thirty-eight Super Late Models registered for battle, and the evening began with Eddie setting not only fast time in his group, but fast time overall with a 13.152 second lap around the clay oval. His qualifying effort locked him into a front row starting spot alongside DJ Wells. As the 40 lap finale went green it was third starting Jackie Boggs, who jumped to the lead for a pair of circuits before RJ Conley took his own turn at the front of the field for the next 19 laps. While the lead changed hands amongst the two drivers, Eddie Carrier Jr. lurked in the shadows and took over the lead on lap 22. Once out front Carrier Jr. received multiple challenges, but ultimately slipped away from his foes to claim the victory with Rod Conley, RJ Conley, Victor Lee, and Steve Casebolt rounding out the top five.

"It's definitely been a rough start to the year for us, but tonight was just a great night for the team," an elated Carrier Jr. commented minutes after claiming the win. "That race was a lot of fun tonight, and hats off to me team and sponsors for their great support. It sure feels good to get that first win of the season!"

Full results from the event are available at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com.

On the heels of Thursday night's win in Kentucky Eddie prepared for a tripleheader with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). The start to the weekend was delayed courtesy of a rain-induced postponement at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markleysburg, Pennsylvania) on Friday night. As a result the team returned to action on Saturday evening at the historic Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) with the $10,000-to-win, Stanley Schetrompf Memorial. Thirty-four entries were on hand for the program at the 1/2 mile oval, and a second place finish in his heat race locked Eddie into the sixth starting spot for the feature event. He would race in the top ten for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the tenth position.
Sunday evening found Carrier Jr. in action in West Virginia as he traveled to the recently reconfigured, West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, West Virginia). It would prove to be a great night for Eddie and Grover Motorsports at the 4/10 mile oval as he claimed his first ever win at the facility!

Eddie began his night by winning the fourth heat race to lock into the fourth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. During the first half of the event Carrier Jr. lurked at the front of the field before overtaking leader Brian Birkhofer on lap 33 for the top spot. Once out front he never looked back on his way to his fourth career LOLMDS victory, and his second victory of the 2013 season. He was followed across the finish line by Josh Richards, Don O'Neal, Brian Birkhofer, and Jimmy Owens.

"It feels pretty good to finally win here, so close to Rocket Chassis. West Virginia has been my home-state since I moved from Kentucky back in '02," said Carrier in Lucas Oil Victory Lane. "To win on this stage, with the caliber of drivers here, they are the best of the best no doubt about it, that's why this is so special, the car was excellent today from the time we unloaded it out of the trailer."

Eddie sits tenth in the latest LOLMDS standings. Full results from both events and the latest standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com.
The team plans to not race anywhere this weekend as they prepare for the next pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events, which will be held May 3rd and 4th at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Kentucky) and Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois).
