NDRL Bluegrass Nationals ticket prices announced

CALVERT CITY, Ky. – Ticket prices have been announced for the NDRL Bluegrass Nationals stock car racing program at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway. The race, scheduled for March 27-29, will be the third points race of the National Dirt Racing League’s “Kings of Dirt” 2014 season.

Grandstand admission will be $25 for one day or $40 for a two-day pass to the racing programs on Friday and Saturday. Fans will be admitted to the grandstand free of charge for a Thursday practice session at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.

Luxury VIP suites accommodating 15 spectators will offer climate-controlled seating with catering service and restrooms. Available suits may be purchased for $825 for a single night or $1,000 for both Friday and Saturday.

Pit passes will be $75 for driver and car and $50 for crew members. This covers all three days.
No advance sales are planned and all sales will be at the gate, cash only. Seating in the track’s modern grandstand will be unreserved.

THE SPEEDWAY also announced some additions to its ticket policy for regular racing programs that are planned on Saturday nights this season from March through October as weather permits.

Ticket prices for regular racing programs have been set at $15 for adult grandstand admission. Children aged 10 and under will be admitted free and tickets for senior citizens aged 60 and over will be $12. Full-season reservation of a luxury suite costs $5,000, a net cost of $200 per night for up to 15 persons for each event of a 25-race season.

For competitors, crew pit passes will cost $30 and entry for driver and car will cost $45.
Season passes granting admission to all regular programs are available. Season ticket holders will also receive a $15 discount on purchases of tickets for special events such as the Bluegrass Nationals.
Season ticket prices are as follows. Discounts are based on at a comparison of total price of single-event attendance at regular prices for 25 races. If more than 25 regular events are staged, the value of the season ticket would increase accordingly.

§  Grandstand admission: $300, which works out to $12 for each of 25 races, a $375 saving over walk-up admission.
§  Crew pit pass: $625, a $125 discount over single-race entry into the pit area.
§  Driver and car pit pass: $875, a $250 discount over single-race entry.

 

Speedway names announcer, starter

CALVERT CITY, Ky. – Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway has named Billy Egeler as track announcer and John Westerfield as starter.
Both are from Owensboro, Ky.
Egeler, 40, has worked as an announcer in various motor sports events at tracks such as Kentucky Motor Speedway in Owensboro, Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Soggy Bottom Raceway (now Cedar Ridge Speedway) in Morgantown, Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., and Paducah International Raceway.
For the past nine years, he has worked as host of an auto racing radio program, Radio Goes Racing, on WKTG-FM in Madisonville. He has also promoted racing events and previously worked as a volunteer crew member for local racers.
Westerfield, 28, is following in the footsteps of his father, Les Westerfield, a 27-year veteran official with NASCAR who is presently race director of the K&N Pro East Series and also works with NASCAR’s Research and Development department.
He began work as a flagman in 2005 at Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro and has served in that job the past three years at Western Kentucky Speedway in Nebo in northern Hopkins County.
