FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brandon Kinzer captures Johnny Salyer Memorial for Spring Nationals Series at 201 Speedway By Chris Tilley, Series Publicist SITKA, KY (April 17, 2014)—Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KY led flag-to-flag at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY on Thursday Night April 17th for his first-career Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series victory. Kinzer also became the 14th different winner in tour history with no repeat winners. Kinzer drove to the $4,000 Johnny Salyer Memorial payday at his home track while driving the Kinzer Drilling Company, Quality Natural Gas, Will Kinzer Foundation for Autism Research and Bluegrass Arms sponsored Gaerte Racing Engines powered MB Customs Race Car. In addition to the victory, Kinzer is the fifth different winner this season. FK Rod Ends Quick Qualifier and polesitter Kinzer and Donald McIntosh brought the field of 23 to the start of the 40-lapper with Kinzer jumping to the point. Two false starts because of multi-car spins would bunch the field up for a third try at the start. Kinzer would still remain in control and hold off a third-starting Jackie Boggs who would challenge Kinzer on the top side during the first few laps. Boggs, by the fifth lap would get a run on the top and make a challenge for the lead before making contact with leader Kinzer in the fourth turn coming to the eighth lap. Boggs would spin around brining out another yellow flag. Boggs would tag the tail for the restart. Kinzer would stay on the point and lead the remaining distance for the payday over Donald McIntosh, who collected his best series finish in the Robinson Racing Club 29 Race Car. Third place finisher was Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, WV in the Carl Grover Motorsports Rocket Chassis, after he rallied from 13th spot. Completing the top five was Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV in the Dohm Cycles Rocket Chassis and fifth was Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, PA in the Keyser Manufacturing Rocket Chassis.
