Story By: Trenton Berry / RacinDirt.com

With Memorial Day weekend just over a week away, it only means one thing for the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, KS, the running of the Annual Steve King Memorial Saturday, May 25th. This year the event will again bring in the very best the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series Presented by MAV TV has to offer, plus a community wide celebration. "I really enjoy hosting the Steve King Memorial at our track," said owner Patrick Johnson. "it's such a community event. I enjoy that aspect of it as much as the actual race."

Liberal, KS native Tony Bruce Jr., and his company TBJ Promotions, have also joined forces with Johnson again to help promote the event. His website TBJpromotions.com is where you can purchase advanced tickets. Bruce is currently 5th in ASCS National Tour points, and would like nothing more than to win in front of many of his local fans.

The race will mark the 11th stop of the season for the ASCS National Tour. Jason Johnson currently leads the standings with "Hollywood" Johnny Herrera on his heels in second. St. Louis, MO area standout Brad Loyet is third.

The first heat race is scheduled to push off at 7:30 PM. Adult admission is $25 and pit passes will run $35. Kids 11 and under will be admitted free of charge.
