Chase Junghans Claims First Win of ’15; Firecracker 100 Next

Manhattan, Kansas (06/23/15) – On Sunday evening Chase Junghans parked his #18 Shop Quik Racing/Capital/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model in victory lane for the first time in 2015

Chase Junghans returned to World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WoOLMS) action on Thursday night, making the long tow to Fonda Speedway (Fonda, New York). The Manhattan, Kansas driver recorded his career-best WoO finish by placing 3rd in the feature event. After battling Chub Frank for the 2nd position, Chase ended the race with a 3rd place finish behind Shane Clanton and Frank with Frank Heckenast Jr., and Tim McCreadie rounding out the top five.

On Saturday night Chase followed the WoOLMS as it traveled to Brighton Speedway (Brighton, Ontario). With 32 Super Late Models on hand for the Mudslinger 50, Junghans scored a top ten finish in the A-Main. In the feature event Chase scored a 9th place finish in the 50-lapper.

With Sunday's WoO show at Cornwall Motor Speedway (Cornwall, Ontario) rained out, Junghans made a quick detour to Eriez Speedway (Erie, Pennsylvania) for a weekly night of racing. Against a field of twenty Super Late Models, Junghans wheeled his way from the 7th place starting spot to capture his first victory of the season ousting Matt Urban, Darrell Bossard, Andy Boozel, and Rob Blair.

Thursday’s evening took the Shop Quik team to the state-of-the-art, Weedsport Speedway (Weedsport, New York) for an $8,000-to-win, event with the WoOLMS. Against a field of thirty-one competitors Chase started 7th in the feature before clawing his way to a 4th place finish behind race winner, Shane Clanton, Tim McCreadie, and Darrell Lanigan.

“Our team really needed this big shot in the arm,” said Junghans with a smile. “The first part of the year has been tough, but it seems like over the past month or so that things are finally starting to click. Hopefully this is the first of many wins to come. The main goal right now is to win our first Outlaws race.”
